ok im ready to throw money at the medieval ks, lets get it started todd, i need extras for a custom as i think it'll work better than merciless.....this why i never finish to, always a better base that shows up
I just snagged these two guys at the Rocklin/Roseville Target off Fairway Dr. There are two Deathstrokes left...as of right now.
In for the whole wave, but I’m just really glad to have the Death Metal designs of Batman and Wonder Woman in plastic. That guitar accessories is gonna be really fun, and Todd showed the BAF in comparison of Superman: Superman comes with alternate hands along with the BAFs arms Batman comes with scythe, guitar, and the BAFs legs Wonder Woman comes with her chainsaw and the BAFs head and cape Robin King comes with the torso and crotch
Really like that Wonder Woman. Will definitely get her. Will probably also get Robin King to go with the Robin Crows, provided I can find the other two of those. Was already planning to get Batman just for the scythe, but that guitar will make it a more interesting purchase. Don’t care about the Superman or Darkside Batman, but may just end up completing the wave since I’m already 3/4 of the way there.
I have mixed thoughts. Fuck yeah, that Batman with the guitar will be mine! We aren't getting Darkside, but we are getting Batman Darkside... Also, I may be delusional, but are Robin and Wonderwoman's cape soft goods?
Todd said (only specified Robin King) that they went all out on the sculpted details. I thought they were soft capes when I first saw them, but I guess they just went mental on the detailing.
I'd say thats cool but that is putting way too much work into an easy solution. Just give them cloth capes! Black series does it and they're fucking awesome!
I understand why Todd is focusing on Death Metal (current “big” story with all designs by Capullo), but I wonder if Todd will tackle any other current, popular story lines? I agree that figures from Justice League Dark would be fun but Todd might not see any of those characters as attractive retail figures for the masses. I looking forward to seeing more of the cartoon Teen Titans. Maybe figures from the current Green Lantern story based of Liam Sharp’s art?
Nah, you can see on the edge of the cape where it looks like some paint was missed. Honestly of the two this one kind of looks like it was 3d printed. But it may be some kind of texture they sculpted.
Dark Father is really awesome, but I really don't care for Wonderwoman, Superman, and Robin enough to get him. I also hope this is the last of the DC Metal stuff. There really isn't any more Todd can do. He's done Metal Batman, all the Dark Knights and all the unique designs from death metal. I just REALLY want him to get back to classic stuff (Which the Bizzaro wave looks like it's the start of).
That wave never officially got revealed, did it? I’m curious if they’re gonna push other characters once the Metals wave drops.
Your correct, it has not been yet. One of the classic style promo pics leaked with Jon Stewart, Bizzaro, Unmasked Thomas Wayne, and Jokerized Red Nightwing. Here is a list of all the figures we KNOW about that Haven't been officially revealed but leaked: Bizarro Jokerized Red Nightwing John Stuart Good Guy Red Death (gold version) Single Packed Redhood To indulge myself in my love of making calenders, Here is what we are looking like for Releases this year: January: Redhood Two-pack Gold Label Batman Damian Wave Robin Drowned Red Son Superman Death Metal Batman w/ Sytche February: Last Knight on Earth Wave Scarecrow Straight Jacket Batman Wonderwoman Omega March: Injustice Wave Grodd Flash Curse of the White Knight Batman (Red Version) "Spring" (April?): Dark Father BAF Wave Death Metal Superman Death Metal Wonderwoman Death Metal Batman w/Guitar Robin King Unknown: John Stuart Jokerized Nightwing Bizzaro Single Packed Red Hood Golden Red Death Unmasked Thomas Wayne Golden Arkham Knight Batman Golden Arkham Origins Deathstroke The rest of the 2004 Teen Titans Reflecting on it more, I think I prefer the "Themed" waves compared to the slipshot ones. Like one wave is the key characters from a media or a set of characters. Say a "Green Lantern" Wave with Hal, Guy, Kyle and Sinestro, and so on.
Ah, super helpful man! Yeah, I really dig the themed waves with a BAF that’s in relation to said wave, makes picking/passing a lot easier. So under the assumption that Dark Nights Metal is the last hurrah before a break, there’s a few pieces of media I could see them using to help boosts sales of the line: Suicide Squad 2 Green Lantern HBO show Snyder Cut Aquaman 2 Black Adam As for other tie-in ideas, I’m afraid most are Batman related: Pattinson Arkham Knights Future State The Winters End or whatever it’s called that’s gonna be DC’s next big event As for things they’ve started: Teen Titans Superman gallery(?) Injustice Red Son (?) Arkham games Assuming they’d want a media tie-in for future lines, I’d say Green Lantern, Aquaman, Teen Titans, and Shazam have decent chances of breaking away from the Bat-train.
I probably wouldn't care if that was his focus if he'd stayed in the 6" realm. However, since he started a whole new scale for retail DC, saying "oh, those characters have been done before" doesn't really fly.
