    So this was interesting. Touching up some mft suits and noticed one of the pins on one of the suits as I was doing a wash. It's rusted. I've not noticed this with other suits but maybe be a bit wary as these just arrived last week. It's only one side as shown, nightmare getting camera to focus on them.

    So, I could use some opinions. I'm weathering up a few suits and wanted feedback on what people think looks better as I'm a bit torn. Both suits had an enamel ak dark grey wash to bring out detailing then the left has weathering using a gunmetal tamiya weathering kit while the right is citadel leadbelcher steel dry brush. Both have perks and look nice but while I love tamiya weathering it'll mean it needs a top coat so it doesn't run off where as the dry brush that's not so much a concern but I feel it lacks something. Any thoughts?

    Edit: I'm wondering why I asked now that I look at how bad the pics are. Any tips or opinions regardless are appreciated though.

    These guys part of MFT? As if so I can hear Games Workshop choppers lifting off with teams of lawyers and preparing to parachute into Beijing with cease and desist letters and 12 gauge shotguns.

    Seriously though, interesting concept, don't really know how I feel about it though. Its... Its an interesting idea. Transformers, Warhammer 40k and Zoids inspiration present, it's odd. Not a bad odd, just odd.

    Games Workshop does not have carte blanche on characters in bulky sci-fi meets medieval power armor. Even if you add a gothic (medieval period and architectural design not the urban sub-culture) aesthetic, they don't have any rights, patents or copyrights to that either. They just don't. I know that GW is very aggressive on the legal front but there is nothing to stand on here. This is more space Viking meets steam punk meets road warrior than anything else. If they could argue that level of "flexibility" of rights, they'd have gone after Blizzard Entertainment long ago for their Terran Marine design which is heavily inspired by Warmammer space marines' proportions and design. This is SO aesthetically different, any case would be thrown out by even a blind judge/court without a second thought. No worries here. :)

    I got more of an Asguardian vibe for a lot of that stuff.

    As for the luna SPACE stuff - I am both pleased it's finally out and disappointed it's a little expensive.
    I'm Still likely to buy it though.

    That Tank Soul thing on the previous page slightly resembles VP-03 I think - so I can see that being produced in Military green but also in white or light grey in the space theme too.

    As for the armour on those mini-figs looking Warhammer 40K like ; well it could also be accused of looking like Gears of War like too could it not ?

    ... It was more a satirical comment about how trigger happy Games Workshop is with their ip. It doesn't help however that the figures include round bases and the painted figure is almost a complete rip off of the Space Wolves colour scheme in 40k which I don't think is an accident. I mean the artillery piece is even close to the Basilisk artillery piece for the Imperial Guard in 40k. Hell some of the weapons even look similar, there's Lasguns and Heavy Bolters, I mean even some of the pauldrons look like they have oaths of moments. It's like someone took 40k, added in Zords, tried to add in some steam punk (which I think already was mixed with a tabletop game in a 40k fashion) and decided to sell it. As I said I'm not against it but it's weird. It feels lazy.

    Edit: in fact here, just to prove a point;

    1606190589439.jpg

    It's a chibi Basilisk essentially.

    As for the theme, it's a knock off of the Space Wolves, almost entirely unless it's pure accident they painted the models the exact same way out of pure chance with clearly no outside influence;

    1606190637815.jpg
    1606190622372.jpg

    As for weapons first the lasgun;

    1606191069195.jpg
    1606191174473.jpg

    Then the heavy bolter which they switched to be a top loader magazine instead (bottom right);

    1606191433126.jpg

    As for Gears of War I'd agree if it actually looked like 40k;

    Other Gears characters have helmets and much bigger shoulder pieces they alsohave the exagerated armour proportions one associates with a space marine (especially in the titles prior to Gears of War 4), the frachise also has some similar vehicles to Warhammer 40K too. I'm not saying it's VERY close - but I'll put it this way Gears is closer to the items being discussed here than it is to say Star Wars kinds of armour & technology.

    The rifle designs though are super generic - they look like any of half a dozen plastic furnitured Modern rifles. (heck they even look like Matrix Workshop's Arcee rifle too)

    Anyway are those Toy alliance items just test shots or are are you supposed to paint them yourself like a gaming miniature as if they are sold in baic grey then they'd be even more open to being accused of putting a tent upon Games Workshop's lawn.

    You say lazy, I say being smart enough to take advantage of an untapped market because the original IP holder are prats and twats to their customer base.

    And seriously; you're calling a toy company out for creative laziness ON A THIRD-PARTY TRANSFORMERS FORUM??? Dafuq?

    These Viking/War Hammer toys aren't from MFT. They are Toy Alliance - the guys who do the Acid Rain toys.

    Is there a thread for these Viking guys/mechs? I'm interested in learning more about them. I tried searching for Archecore and got nothing.
