Seriously, we need a new Retro Future line similar to FansProject's Retro Future line from 2013-2014. It was amazing to see new characters in the older style of the G1 Transformers toys. We need that but more.

Put your ideas for toys that a 3rd Party Company could create in a new sort of Retro Future line here.

I would 100% be down for that. I finally picked them up a year ago and totally love that line. Be cool to see how companies would tackle this.

I have been thinking about other things about a potential Retro Future set. I have some ideas for these 3rd Party Companies to give them a bit more elbow room.
    1. Think about not just the old Scramble City Combiners, but all of the other gimmicks from the past (Headmasters, Targetmasters, Powermasters, etc).
    2. Try branching out into RID 2001, Beast Wars, or any of those older series (plural) if you think the G1 Aesthetic is a bit limiting.
    3. Try Action Masters if you can't think of what you want them to transform into.

Minimum I would love to see a line of G1 style fembots, not unlike these customs:

Those customs are made of 2 Kups, 1 Blurr, and what appears to be a Hot Rod. Impressive customs, just not very "accurate" (I mean as accurate as a G1 Style Toy is going to be.) There were 2 Toys planned, a new (as of then) toy which did have a prototype, and a Chromedome redeco.

While I think FP's Glacialord was a cool one off, I think its novelty would wear off quickly (though if say, Cang Toys or TFC wanted to make a "modern" version of Glacialord, I would be in on that yesterday).

In a recent thread, an idea I thought would be fun would be to take the design and aesthetics of actual G1 toys, but recreate with things like modern articulation.

    In others words:

    Give this:

    The posability of this:

Another toy is some Duetobots. Basically if the Duocons were Autobots. Have new alternate modes for them.

I don't know...I think generational designs are subjective...comic book vs cartoon...versus a REAL good analog drawing/painting of a character, it's off the charts. I just bought some vintage McDonald's toys but in no way do I suggest anyone else getting same. ;)

I know...see @Nemesis Compactor's post with the "retro" Megatron? I was not attracted to that at all. Sure when we were kids, a Frankenstonian amalgamation of a tooth picked legged robot was acceptable....but no thanks now. ;)  Some old designs are frightening to me as an adult to what we thought were "rad".

I’d still love to see some g1 de-makes of some of the newer characters from later transformers seasons.

lockdown, bulkhead, lugnut. That kind of thing.

totally down for new characters as well though, I love the glacial bots

I’d love to see it too. Glacialord was awesome.

but it didn’t sell, so they didn’t make any others.

I need key lime Hot Rod in my life.

As for a new retro future line, I agree that it would be wonderful to see. I am guessing there isn't enough demand to sustain one, unfortunately.
    *hugs Glacialord and sticker book*

I would buy an MP Glacial Lord.

As for retro designs. I agree with those opinions that they would need to start with missing characters such as Arcee and the female Autobots and maybe DevCon or Alpha Trion. Maybe comic characters like Impactor.

Those would probably be the best kick-off point for a retro line. Maybe from there you can thread in some original characters.

Me too, those and Drift (omnibot leader?), Windblade, Turmoil, Slipstream (that's an easy one)...

Sure those too, and yep, then go ahead with some invented characters.

And that would be a great place to start a retro line. And another would be the G1 Unicron.

Glacialbots are still available right now at heavily discounted prices. G1 reissues are priced highly and then quickly clearanced. This makes no business sense.

But what about those people who already have the Glacialbots and whose collection is already complete of the G1 figures that aren't victims of GPS?

Also, I am saying that there needs to be more figures that replicate that charm of those old toys but are new. Something new that looks like something old.

Here are some of my ideas

New Headmasters: Making new Headmaster designs would be sweet. Especially if they were similar to the original Headmasters. They could create new ones with the same gimmick of the Speed, Strength, and Intelligence meters in the chest. That would be cool.

New Powermasters: That gimmick was pretty cool. The Powermasters were necessary to transform the figures, which was a unique gimmick, to say the least. But, there were only 7 Powermaster figures with 8 Powermasters in the original North American toyline: Darkwing, Dreadwind, Doubledealer, Getaway, Joyride, Slapdash, and the original Powermaster Prime. If someone were to create new Powermasters, that would be cool.

The final Gimmick I think that could be created are some more G1 Styled Scramble City Combiners. There are a lot of themes for the groups that could be used. Like a dinosaur based group of "Decepticons" to be the counterparts for the Glacialbots.
