Those are continuity errors, not animation errors. hot rod transforms at least 3 different ways in the movie. Are those errors?
What if Rodimus shows up in the Netflix series with a battle platform? Part 3 is supposed to be based on Kingdom, right?
If his trailer turns into a interconnecting battle station for Micromaster/Minicons I’m all for it. I’m still using the old 3rd party Rodimus Armor/Trailer that goes on Classics Hot Rod. That said I’d like to see a bit improved head on Kup, but I’m fine with just leaving this one in alt mode and my Classics & Henkai Kup each with their cygar 3rd party heads in bot mode, while using TR Kup for his Target Master Version. I would like a spot on G1 Hot Rodimus to represent after the Matrix is empty from cleansing the Hate Plague. That could very well be where I see myself integrating this Hot Rod Figure, unless some 3rd party makes a slightly more mature looking face/head for the mold, that it.
I would say they are. Unless his transformation sequence is meant to be multiple choice. But there’s no point to continuing this. I don’t believe that just because the Winnebago separated from Rodimus a few times (I’ve been told) in the cartoon that that means the battle platform appeared. Did it ever open? I remember Optimus using his near the very start of the series, but I don’t remember Rodimus doing so. Most times I remember him transforming it folded into his body. I’m unclear on the difference between what you call “oddities” and “errors “ but I, personally am going to go with what I believe was shown most often. I’m quite aware that others are going in different directions with this, and I’m certainly not telling them they shouldn’t. To me, the battle platform is not important enough to push a figure that should be the size of the previous Voyager class, and the complexity of the current Leader class, up to Commander class. If others are happy with it, great. It’s just not what I’m looking for, and I’ll be passing on it.
He also transformed many more times over the course of Season 3 with his “trailer” just integrating into his body. Did the battle platform ever open? Or do anything?
And Optimus transformed most of the time with his trailer just disappearing, yet none of the toys can do that
So what I’m hearing is we need a G1 Prime with a Crystal Clear Trailer... A Critically Damaged Prime & Megatron 2pk, with exposed cracks chiseled into the body, with Optimus having the added feature of turning from normal color to monochrome via light exposure like some of the old Cobra Figures.
Every toy can do that. Pull of the trailer and fling it across the room, then use your imagination and say it disappeared.
I haven't been 100% paying attention. I'm curious if stuff like Kingdom Cyclonus will get repaints in Studio Series 86. Is there a more "movie" deco he could have?
Lol, no I'm not even a mint in box collector. I actually prefer the Gen Selects packaging, I'd rather Hasbro Pulse just ship those boxes direct like Amazon does the nice boxes and save on packaging. But for some reason it does feel a little bit weird (not a strong feeling, just a small one) that the packaging between Hot Rod and Galvatron's crew won't match.
That one toy was the original figure. The fact is that the idea behind G1 Primes was that they had battle stations.
Ok...? Did Optimus ever transform by having his trailer fold into his body? I don’t recall that he did. Did his trailer ever open up and do anything in the show? It did at least once. Unlike Rodimus. So what’s your point?
