It was. And honestly I'd prefer the maroon and green over the clear. But beggars can't be choosers lol
Oh absolutely. But I do know for season 2 they worked a lot closer with one another.
Interesting! They just slapped a clear vehicon one in the resin lol and the peg is rounded so the head can move side to side.
    Gimme dem orange ones ;)
I believe it's because of "legal" reasons. Like kids getting them and swallowing something that maybe not be final on that test shot, getting sued, etc...
Usually test shots have the copyright stamps at that stage but who knows lol that could be something too?
Wish they'd sell me some though lol!

Yeah, it’s weird that he got squashed down. I wonder why. He was the first figure I bought as an adult collector, so I’ve got a soft spot for him.

I have never in my life seen the prototypes and images with the unused rubber/latex Tripredacus / Magnaboss bots..! Just holy sh*t... I would put my home up for sale for a version of these.. Particularly Tripredacus/Tripledacus... Its amazing how G1/G2 they look.. I absolutely adore these. Tripredacus is one of my absolute favorites any way, I wonder what the detail looks like on the six bots? Combined into 2 and individually? Does anyone have better images of them? Has or does any one own copies of them?

If I had to guess, they were destroyed, or the owner of them is a very, very private person lol
Best we got were the photos on the display.

I cringe at the thought that these might have been destroyed :(  I figured all projects were kept in an archive, especially if they had life breathed in to them to the point of having a physical representation to hold in your hands? Idk. Still, I'm curious if these photos exist in a larger context online somewhere?

Well. The frog and the lobster survived. So. It's still possible that the "rough drafts" of the others did.
But to my knowledge there isn't anything else like this seen online.
Aaron Archer said in an interview a few months back that Takara would typically be the ones to archive the resin hard copies.
Like he sent the Transtech Cheetor to them to be archived. So maybe they only archive the "finals"?
I remember seeing images from Hascon of some hard copies of somewhat more recent stuff. So it could very well be that they started archiving things too...

Speaking of Transtech, do you have any of those molds or know the status of the prototypes? I have probably stared at the designs and images of the Cheetor and Starscream prototypes dozens of times. Love what they were going for. But I still haven’t come across an image of a fully transformed robot mode of Cheetor, which drives me nuts.

Haha I wish I had a line on them. If I did I'd be putting a kidney on the market to buy the Cheetor lol
As far as I know... Just what Archer said on the interview.. He boxed them up and sent them to Takara. So for the time being. That's the story on them lol
They need to dust em off and make them into toys already. I think I want that more than a BW Generations line.

We have seen Cheetor and Starscream in detail before. Supposedly Optimus is out there as well, but we have never seen him. There are also some rumblings Megatron is out there too.

No idea why you'd have such items and not share pictures with fellow fans.

I know there are at the very least concept art pieces for Prime and Megs (among others)
But. In the briefest of time I've spent collecting preproduction stuff, there are a good amount of private collectors out there that buy this stuff up, never to show it off ever lol

I know they are out there. I guess there's a chance we'll see it when they die or it goes in the garbage. Seems pretty stupid to me either way.

    Lol I agree.
You'd think with the almost cult following Transtech has, that Hasbro would try to start making those types of things happen for this Pulse thing. I mean. I dig Stepper and G2 Combat Megatron. But nut up and let us pay top dollar for some toys cancelled two decades ago lol

Hascon was a failed convention celebrating Hasbro rather than the fans and brands that are the only reason Hasbro is still around.

I too think that there is a lot of money to be made off of legendary unproduced items. But there's also no point if they cut corners with them.

For instance, if they were to produce TransTech Starscream, he should come with the electronics originally planned. Truly give fans the figure they would have gotten - that's like having a time machine. That's a fully rewarding experience.

It's the same concept as doing reissues in vintage packaging - that's part of the appeal, part of the experience. Doing new packaging for old toys, while I'm sure creatively rewarding, doesn't match the reality of the demand.

The pathetic part is just interacting with fans for 5 minutes (that means diverse fans and not elitist groups) tells you all you need to know about what's in demand. Yet they clearly struggle to comprehend. Although it's gotten markedly better the last 5 years.

That's a good point. Would probably save more money by not bothering with going through the trouble of setting up an auction, assuming they'd only get below $1000 per figure.
