Opened up my V2 for a play yesterday and I broke him on first transformation! The little pieces of plastic that fold behind his abdomen. It’s a super thin circular piece of plastic wrapped around a metal post that needs to swivel seen in many mini-cons. Can foresee if the plastic becomes more brittle, it will break there also. Oh well, at least it’s hidden in bot mode...

 

Do you mean the one for the side panel?
I didn't apply that. You would have to remove or cover over the original one somehow.

I wondered what the point of it was, and how you'd split it etc. Not shocked that it wasn't an obviously straightforward 'fix'. And it doesn't say Citanes anyway, so it's only the font that it'd change. For toon aesthetic folks, it serves no purpose then, and even switching out the G for a C wouldn't really make it easy enough to bother, it seems.

 

What's the word on the QC issues with this figure?

Early run figures had a leg misassembly that most were able to correct on their own. Some late run figures had discolored ankles. I'd be more concerned with the discolored ankles as it looks pretty shitty. They're an off green. I would probably either wait for the next run or order from a place that you could easily return it...or request they inspect it before shipping it out.

 

Ah. Weird. I hope this isn't the end for TE. They have so much promise... Fingers crossed for the next run.

 

To me it just seems like a good trip. The one that'd leave you with a scraped knee and arms. They'll get back up and compete again after a bit of healing, haha.

 

Hey Cogwheels, know it's a bit late, but would you be willing to share that email transaction w/ redacted personal info? I'm still waiting for reply on my own replacement parts & if this is going to be a thing with TE it would be nice to have record of it here.

Funny thing is that qc sticker is down below the same foot

 

For what it's worth, TFS-Express told me they were getting spares, but that was in regards to a part of the engine block, not the panel colour issue. It's been ages, but they did say they were organising it.

Yeah that seems to be the standard QC issue of batch 2. The legs being mis-assembled is the batch one problem. Who knew we we’re the lucky ones in batch one? At least it was reasonably fixable.

 

Don't know-- it's been on pre-order at TFSource for ages it seems. Latest says December arrival.
