the IMAI/AOSHIMA MOSPEADA LEGIOSS includes wheel hubs for nonexistent rubber tires, all three of which are sized for the larger, MAIN GEAR (REAR) tires included with the 1/72 IMAI/BANDAI variable MACROSS VF-1 kits. fortunately, i happened to have some extra sets of those tires left over from my three earlier, less-than-ideal attempts at the IMAI/BANDAI VF-1 kit, and they fit the LEGIOSS gear hubs as if they were made for them;
HG Desert Zaku Another excellent GTO kit. Hip pocket can be opened to take out the hand grenade. Nothing groundbreaking but still very rare in HG. The details for backpack and additional new parts are nice and crisp. This really should be the quality for new HGUC kits.
One of the few P-Bandai Zaku variants that got away from me...I'd love to add this guy to the collection.
Total brainfart. I forgot the armor is sold separately from the weapons (even though it clearly says fake V weapons in the box). When I realized I was already back in my office workplace haha
Keep going!!! Get duplicates and paint them all differently!! HARO THE RAINBOW!!! Oops... well, on the bright side you did get the first half of the total Fake Nu . Aside from the trap of Armor and Weapons *Each sold separately* they are a lot of fun. Continuing on my latest addiction, the Saturnix Weapon set gets some color. Trick to matching the armor's color of orange needed more leather to tint it brown slightly. I even took the opportunity to repaint the base stand. In hindsight, I could have painted those long edges in white but the orange was already done and I don't want to go over it again. The white armor parts to the left was an impulse idea but it matches a section of the Uranus armor (knee guards) that I painted the exact same way, so that half of the Planet System units will almost have a matching style. There is little more surface space to work with on the outer three planets. The gray work next, selective undercoating and some surface details. I started to use what I still have left in the paint pan for some extra orange details, like the hubs for the heel wheels. I'll paint the tires black when I get closer to finishing them. I still need to paint the drill tip, but is it ironic or purely coincidental that the armor with "tool like" weapons is colored like Home Depot?
I don't even mind them selling the armors as expansion packs, its just the separating of the weapons and armor that really bugs me. And yeah at least I got the weapons already, so the Alus Earthree should be able to use them at least.
Guys, I’m thinking of picking up some of the 1/100 Barbatos kits such as the Vidar and Graze...do they still hold up? Yeah, I picked up the Char Zaku and grunt and I really enjoyed building the kits. But the surface details of the RGs looks soooo nice to me! Wowzers! Did you paint it?! It does look very good! I saw it at a hobby store last week and was so tempted to pick it up. ...that’s disappointing. I was thinking of picking it up after I get the base kit. Wow! Nicely done! I still think this PG looks good despite its age. I’ll wait for at least 1 year to see if Bandai releases a newer PG Zaku II before deciding to get the kit.
I can't tell from the pics on Dalong but that might entirely be due to the idea somebody might want to go Double Fin Funnel on Fake Nu. I didn't have time to go through the instructions to verify but all the parts look symetrical with themselves so in theory, reversing the joints would allow a second rack of funnels to mount where the beam saber attaches. That, along with the idea it's easier (and cheaper) to encourage customization if you just have the funnels and gun by themselves as opposed to the weapons and a set of armor that is designed to only work with Core Gundams exclusively.
I agree, I think the Core Gundam/Planet Armors is one of the best new gimmicks in Gunpla in recent years, but they're padding the release numbers for "Divers" as a line by making the Armor and Weapons separate. Yet making Weapon Packs as standalone Custom equipment fodder for builders to customize kits on their own works too. Just as @Autobot Burnout said, it's so nobody has parts they don't need for kits they don't have in that sense. EDIT: Burnout is right, they are designed so you can go Double Fake Fin Funnel: http://schizophonic9.com/re6/hgbd_fakenu0771.jpg *Which reminds me, now with my HWS Expansion on the way, it's time to set up for the RG Nu Double Fin Funnel HWS* They really should release an Alus Core like they're doing with the Titans and G3 color Core Mk2 so you can have Alus Earth and Fake Nu together. Looking at the Core Gundam Mk2 stand-alone kits, they need just one more so you can have all Planet Armors active at once. How it lines up for me: Mk2 Titans - Mercury Core G3 - Venus Core (normal) - Earth Core Real Type - Mars Core "Neon" - Jupiter ???? - Saturn Core Mk2 (normal) - Uranus Mk2 G3 - Neptune Saturn is the odd man out without color coordinated Core Gundam to work with but there are plenty of RX-78 inspired color variations to work with, like a Heavy or even Local type.
I still don't agree with the execution on this, I think the armors should at least come with the necessary parts for completion while the weapon sets come with added customization options for use with other kits. And quite frankly I find the Fake Nu weapon set to be entirely taking the piss, since only 2 of the Funnels are functional... I cannot for the life of me understand the justification behind that if not explicitly to pad release numbers and sales for those who want at least 6 functional funnels.
I know what you're saying, considering Seltsam and Nu-Zeon came with their respective Weapons that got stand alone releases as well. Look at the real HG Nu Gundam and Hi Nu, same situation of only a few functional funnels for stability and weight control.
Not only that but they absolutely could get away with Reverse Turn X and Dubious Arche armors as well if they made a standalone Alus Core Gundam...but they're likely not, since then they can effectively milk the Alus Earththree even harder. Only having two functiona fin funnels might actually be a meta joke (albiet not a good one) about how IIRC the original HGUC Nu Gundam also only had two functional funnels. Or maybe it was the Hi-Nu.
Somehow these totally went under my radar: Customized Scene Base (City Area Ver.) I'm gonna buy a dozen of these. 30MM is quickly becoming my focus hobby line. The shear customizability and low cost is everything I got into Gunpla for.
I just watched MechaG's review of the new option part sets, they're straight up including new heads and stuff. One of the new Raibot sets includes a facemask that covers the visor, but the end result looks like the bastard child of an Occulus VR unit and an Armored Core face and it looks fantastic. What's even cooler is that these are 100% compatible with existing gunpla...and future Gunpla. I am absolutely getting one of these option sets for the spare custom fodder Daughtress I got coming next month.
At this point I'm just waiting for dedicated limb and head option sets. Sure the additional heads lack clear visors, but except for the fighter jet one (the only real misstep in the line so far) none of them have really needed it. I also love how the Rabiot RoyRoy is designed as supplemental head and shoulders to turn a Rabiot into a more industrial real-robot. We're running out of things you can't do with 30MM.
I want my damn Psuedo-Vanguard-Overed-Boost unit to go attack walking aircraft carriers. And no, the Psycho P Reuse device doesn't count...even though I think at 1/144 scale it's still bigger than the actual 1/72 scale V.O.B. that comes with a White Glint.
Sometimes I believe myself well-versed in Gundam, and then you say stuff like that and I feel like I'm back to "so is a Gouf a Zaku or which Wing Zero is real?"
Think the Psycho Zaku's propellent booster, only strapped to a Shoji Kawamori machine flying to a surfer rock soundtrack. There there... here you go. HG 1/144 BOOSTER EXPANSION SET FOR CRUISER MODE (COMBAT DEPLOYMENT COLORS)(ADVANCE OF Z THE FLAG OF TITANS) | GUNDAM | PREMIUM BANDAI USA Online Store for Action Figures, Model Kits, Toys and more I'll buy mine when the Gm Sniper Custom goes up for sale.
