Too true, but it doesn't stop Takara-Tomy from producing one of their own if they deem it necessary.

 

All Takara-Tomy did was masterpiece megatron rather than the main lines. It is still frustrating for the generations lines.

 

Indeed. But... Siege Megatron does a pretty good job, honestly. (Or ER, if that's one's preference.)

If we don't get a gun, we at least have an excellent representation, if imperfect.

 

I don't think ER Megatron is bad but it is the only one that is not a faithful representation of G1 counterpart of every whole line. Unfortunately, he is one of the most important characters.

 

I'm okay with the idea of tank Megatron. Obviously a mainline release can't turn into a realistic hand gun. I just wish they would do tank Megs better. I want an articulated and solid Megs with a lean, perfect bot mode to go toe to toe with my ER Prime. Siege Megs just doesn't cut it. ER Megs certainly has a better alt mode, but his bot mode is exactly the same as the Siege figure in all the ways I'm unsatisfied with

 

Well if we're going to get technical, SS 86 could also include the Insecticons, Brawn, Windcharger, the Constructicons, and Gears. Do I think they'll make all of these? Absolutely not but they're there if they really wanted to continue the line.

 

And as Gears apparently got cancelled in Kingdom, this would be a perfect way to get that design out (if it got any way down the design process, that is).

 

I think there's a good chance Gears got pretty far in development since he showed up in the artwork. I don't know if they'd actually consider putting him in the line though given that his presence in the film is so minimal you could blink and you'd miss it.

 

Honestly it's good that they scrapped the Kingdom Gears design as it was going to be core class and the rest of the recent minibots have been deluxes. Would have been out of place with the rest of the minibots

The artwork was pre development of the line, basically the designers pitch to the hasbro brass, Gears and Polarclaw both got dropped before figure designs were finalized

 

Ah okay that makes sense, I thought they had made that a little further down the line. And knowing now that Gears was meant to be Core class makes me feel a lot better about him getting canned.

 

Yea, I don't really think I would have been happy with him at core class and kind of suspect that's a big reason why he got canned (not fitting with Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Hubcap, Bugbite, Huffer, Warpath and Pipes).

 

Did not know that. I am now overjoyed that the planned core class Gears was scrapped. I guess we'll just have to wait and see where in the next three years they will choose to slot in a proper deluxe version.

 

Definitely think Brawn needs the same treatment as Warpath. Potp windcharger i can live with. Outside of that I would love them to do power glide and cosmos again

But i still need it to complete s1 autobots.

I know Daniel is supposed to be on the way, but I really need a Spike. Hope they do something, my Netflix Bumblebee needs his foul-mouthed friend!

 

Leader Swoop with Spike in an Exosuit? Swoop will be the smallest but the extra Spike will semi justify it.

Grimlock with Wheely.
Slag comes with Daniel.
3 more dino's.
One with Spike.
Another with Carly maybe.
Then we have one left.
Or are they doing Spike with exosuit and one without, same goes for Daniel.
Let's see what Hasbro have to surprise use.
But Snarl need his sword instead of just his gun. Because Snarl always use his sword in the cartoon.
I don't mind other dino's not coming with sword, because i never saw them using it in the f1 cartoon.
