I just want a nice Marvel Galvatron. Is that so much to ask for after all these years? No company, Hasbro or 3P, has done him in those colors since the original 1986 toy.

 

Same here. I would get it if it was an obscure mistake, but Toy Galvatron was a major player for YEARS in both US and UK comics and maybe more Iconic in those colors to TF fans.

 

Why do some collectors still refuse to acknowledge the existence of Takaratomy as being the main toy designing team for Transformers, I don't know. Sigh. Especially the fact that their FUCKING LOGO is on EVERY NEW MAINLINE RELEASE IN AMERICA.

 

Yes. Hasbro’s role in the design and engineering is minimal. That’s Takara’s team. Hasbro is basically the brand management, the upcoming story and character development, packaging and artwork and then offer notes where needed to TT.

 

Which means, of course, that if Hasbro isn't involved then the product isn't going to see a mainline release. Regardless of who's doing the designing.

 

It’s a joint effort. Hasbro does the initial designs and send it to TT to make the engineering part of it happen. There’s a lot of back and forth, though.

 

Reasonable logic for the most part. Here's where I quibble:

1) Galaxy OP wasn't a holdover from UT. I'm not sure what the original plan for Kingdom was supposed to be (I've heard it was supposed to be the '86 line, which they moved to SS to keep that line afloat ) but they wouldn't have had a design for a 3rd year figure available to go in year 1. Nova Prime could be an option, though unlikely given they just did Nemesis for their last spoiler.
2) We could be given a toy-colored Astrotrain. That he went to discount stores doesn't mean much IMO because a lot of figures - even ones that sold well - end up in discount stores once they switch to the new theme.
3) Hasbro clearly thinks you can't have enough OP.
4) Doubledealer could get redecoed as G2 Soundwave or perhaps another character. And if DD has a big role in the series, that could raise his profile.

My argument against Megatron or Galvatron being in the spoiler pack is that so far all the figures in the spoiler pack were older toys from the first wave of Siege (even if Magnus and 35 OP were still shelfwarming in places). I don't think Hasbro wants the NF figures to be directly competing with toys that are still new releases. Wave 3 is likely to hit in the late spring, and Megatron will still be a new figure.

I’m using the “Kingdom was originally Unicron Trilogy themed” thing based on leaker info on these threads. I don’t know if I’m misremembering things though. Try searching on the ER threads or Pixelmaster’s post history. Either way, disregarding that, Galaxy Prime feels like such a niche pick to make into a Spoiler Pack.

Keep in mind again that what I’m saying isn’t the definitive answer; I’m more just theorizing based on certain factors. If the spoiler pack turns out to be something otherwise like Pink Doubledealer with Buzzsaw and Enemy, I’ll gladly concede.

 

Pixelmaster was passing out information that we know is incorrect (the claim that armada prime was intended for kingdom) which makes the rest of his information on that subject suspect to scrutiny.

 

i don't think he said that all, he said armada prime was a takara thing, and that kingdom was at the beginning meant for to be ut themed, instead of armada prime meant for kingdom, i could be wrong but i don't remeber him saying that at all

 

He said armada prime was intended as a kingdom release, its part of why I’ve stopped believing his “insider info”
