why is everyone talking like it's still possible to buy the haslab version? hasn't that ship sailed and when it's released the only option will be buying it from ebay scalpers for $1000?

hopefully someone will release an oversized version of the studio cell one but with the colors of the haslab, and some planet mode improvements

I really want to get the Studio Cell but I'm waiting because I want someone else to buy it for me. I don't think that's going to happen, so I hope to get him for myself as a Christmas gift.

 

But the Zeta Unicron doesn't scale with anything ;-)

 

For me personally, Haslab. Mostly because I'm not *that* attached to G1 so screen accuracy to G1 isn't a huge deal to me -- and Haslab's planet mode looks way cooler. Also in this case, size matters. Studio Cell Unicron isn't going to be bigger than Siege Omega Supreme or Earthrise Scorponok and I just can't have that lol.

Because look at that planet mode.

All else is dross.

 

The sad thing is that we'd have an even better Unicron, if combining some of the best qualities of these two figures together.

Haslab's large size, bigger wings/ring, better colors (subjective), screen-accurate asymmetrical details like on the chest.

Cell's kibble-killing engineering, LED lights, cooler red abs, possible superior articulation.

 

For the people complaining about Zeta's Unicron size... HasLab is still small for your average CHUG collection lol yeah he's bigger than Metro but not bigger enough to be in scale with a CHUG, so you're living a lie and HasLab's Unicron is still Legends-sized, size discussion is totally unnecessary (Unicron isn't your average Titan) because Unicron being just a little bit bigger than Metro doesn't make him the winner of the scale battle, just like Trypticon, Planet X's Apocalypse is a massive beautiful articulated monster and TR Trypticon is a big block but hey he's bigger, is a battle between quality and size
If you want a better figure go for Zeta's if you want a bigger figure HasLab's is the choice but neither has the correct scale, remember that before spending big bucks in big boys

Also, obviously no Unicron toy can ever be in scale, but I still want him to be the largest bot in my collection, which is a test that Zeta Toys Unicron can't pass while Haslab's can.

 

What Lie? Everyone knows Unicron will never be in scale. We simply want him in RELATIVE scale. As in, jetfire is smaller than combiners, combiners < omega supreme < city bots <unicron. He just needs to be the biggest bot of a collection. I get it, Cell is a great figure (I know this because I own him), but Haslab’s simply gets the point across for size. I bought cell because he was clean and a cartoon unicron, but I bought Haslab’s because he simply is bigger than everything in my collection, including city bots. And since in universe he’s the biggest transformer, he wins scale by default.

People aren’t living a lie just because they prefer a certain scale.

 

i think there might be a second batch but with some differences to make it an exlcusive so when people turn around and complain they can say it's not the same ( i could be totally wrong ).... say anything like that in the haslab thread and you will get your head bitten off because people think they have bought something that will be rare

 

Exactly. Simply being bigger than everything else is fine in regards to Unicron's scale.

 

I've had this happen to me with multiple "backed" projects before, if there's enough demand hasbro is gonna find a way to get that money. They'll recolor it or something, but they will do a second run. They never explicitly promised they wouldn't, they've already got the backers money -- they're more than happy to take everyone else's money too.

 

Actually they said this was a “once in a life time chance” so unless they were lying....no second batch

 

I've ordere a studio version. Haslabs is to expensive and studio has better design with no kibbles.
I'm only not satisfied with his small wings and small planet rings. They should be bigger.
That's the only thing i have my nitpicks with.
But i can live with it.
I don't care about the sizes of these big bots anymore. As long as they are bigger then other mp's ( prime and megs ), then i'm good.

Want to have them both, but at this point I don’t feel like dropping the chunk of change needed for the hasbro release, so I’ll be sticking with the cell I already own. Maybe I’ll have the extra cash when the hasbro release drops, but we’ll see.
