My third attempt at making this kind of figured. Basically I want to make an armor system where all the pieces are connected, especially because the base figure is floppy in places; it's the os Seige Optimus. I think it's much better than the last two attempts and I'm keeping the weight down. If I can figure out the knees and make the hips better, the pants will be done. I'm not sure why I rolled my eyes when I saw the thumbnail, but I'm glad I clicked. This is way cooler than I expected. Almost hard to believe there's a Siege Prime in there. Great job. Great helmet. Nice silhouette. My only criticism is that the new fists get lost in all that gray.

 

I love your customs man, this ones all too good, can you link the thread to the other powered up OP you did in the 3rd pic?

How poseable is it in combined mode? Are you going to paint the armour pieces to match Optimus (red arms, blue legs, etc)?

 

I've only been working on this a couple days, but there were a lot of times where I thought it wasn't going to work out. The base robot seemed too big, the legs were too blocky to fit in the leg armor, the aesthetics are very different, etc. But I'm glad it seems to be shaping up.

I have to cut an elbow notch in the forearm armor and rework the thigh armor ball joints, but the goal is to have everything be at least 50% as articulated as the base figure, minus waist articulation. Making all the armor pieces jointed together AND still be able to fold up into a trailer will definitely limit articulation. I want the suit to be able to stand on its own and separate from the trailer bits.

The last version was supposed to be an ancient demon in a casket that basically parasites Optimus. I still kind of want to work that in, but it might be too much to try to make the armor a separate figure... So, I'm not planning on painting it Optimus colors.

 

Looks amazing, what happened to it? Is it still up for sale?
