Still a backpack

 

Backpacks and the different looks they had and profiles they made were always one of my favorite things about Transformers.

 

An objectively and comparatively non-existent backpack, for that matter.

 

While I personally am not too concerned about backpacks, Roadking's at least comes together in a tidy fashion, much better then the hunk hanging off Magnum

 

Agreed, though Magnum's kibble I believe is also far from the worst. But between the 3 FT Stunticons out now, it is.

 

I think we just wouldn't have anything to talk about in here if it weren't for backpacks. They're the lifeblood of TFW! I don't mind big backs but it helps when there's some kinda shape to it that doesn't look too kibbley

 

Tailfin on Spoiler might be toon accurate, but I could be imagining things.

Doors on the legs are bit annoying, but in the sense that I could be posing him, then notice them not sitting flush against him (not floppy, but easy knocked out of place), same with the little red panels

Though I doubt it's possible to engineer away all the car bits into the body, but was impressive to tuck the windshield completely inside his torso.

Kibble adds character, the Terrorcons for example would be very boring without the monster bits

 

Awesome, this is what I’m talking about! I thought the one thing everyone could agree on was hating kibble, but some people are pro kibble! If we could all come to love kibble we’d never be disappointed

Yes to that. I hope those are next alongside the technobots but my guess is that FT's going for the Protectobots for the Defensor Wars.

Well they went with Superion and Menasor before the more obvious starting choice of Devastator.

There's also the question of if FT-30 is Superion, FT-31 is Menasor, if 32-38 are gonna all be combiners (which isn't a given, of course), who fills the last spot (Devy, Bruticus, Defensors, Abominus, Computron, Predaking), that's six combiners and seven spots?

Yes! I noticed that too. The side of Roadking's trailer looks like the side of the G1 toy's trailer. It even has the square places on the sides that look like the square places on the side of the G1 toy where the shoulder and arm rotate down to the side when it transforms to robot mode. It is definitely cool.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to disparage or diminish TE-01 at all. Quite the opposite, I LOVE TE-01. It has one of the cleanest, best-looking robot modes(and vehicle modes for that matter) of any of the MP-scaled figures. It's one of my favorite figures of all time. That's why it's permanently displayed on my desk. I was just using it for a scale reference to show how mind-blowing it is that Roadking's robot mode contains a full trailer for the vehicle mode as well. I probably should have clarified that better initially.
