Where were they canceled from? A smaller US retailer or someone big like Toy Dojo, BBTS, Chosen Prime, etc?

Do you suppose they are intentionally holding their inventory?

I ask knowing that the answer is, "No". I am curious as to what you think they can do to get their shipment in faster?

Have them shipped by plane like most other US retailers instead of by raft, Wilson!

You need an Astrotrain though to escape.

BBTS = "Secondary Market" for other retailers.

Order yours through a different retailer if you are not satisfied with the shipping method they utilize?

It's often been a complaint of BBTS taking longer to receive their orders... then those same people complain when the next order takes as long... and again... and they keep ordering through BBTS.

If I need something fast, I don’t order through BBTS.

If I think I might possibly need customer service that will bend over backwards to help me, I order from BBTS

    Pretty easy for me.

And that's perfectly fine. Variety in retail maintains a competitive market. But to.hear the same old, "Hurry, BBTS, I want my toys now!" from the same lot of vocal folks over and over... why not use another outlet?

Whenever I look at FansToys Thomas, I'll always know that this was the figure that made me quit Transformers-collecting. With all the trouble I went through to get him (overpaying and delays during shipping causing mental anguish), I've decided that enough is enough. I feel vilified by the seller for wanting to cancel despite the fact I overpayed. He probably did something bad to the figure as retaliation for my wish to cancel before he sent it. I guess I'll find out when it arrives. It's just not worth it anymore.

This sounds like a great super villain origin story where you get a position on a QC assembly line and take down the whole 3PMP empire from the inside.

Yeah I think some people don't realize yet that Fanstoys has a brand power of its own that is pretty much stronger than that of Takara's own MP line at this point, at least in terms of brand loyalty from diehard fans.

Not the only one, and not the only figure. Trailbreaker too. ShowZ also had their's sold out, TCP did so as well as per following Fans Toys' word, BBTS took their's down AGES ago. TFSource are the only ones who have anything in, and they only have Trailbreaker in.

The shame is, if they're having them delivered by slower methods, it's probably an effort to cater to:
    200.gif
Like the saying goes: good, cheap, fast...pick two

Also I think people don't understand modern warehouse finds. Collectors are so cheap now, alot of stuff stays in the warehouse manufacturer/distributor warehouse. Yeah, your (fewer) stores show "sold out," but it's because they bought less and sold out of that. So when it reappears down the road as a "warehouse find," it's more like they found a warehouse offering stock vs finding stock in their own warehouse.

All of this is because of a shift in collector mentality. People don't look at a toy and determine its value based on its intrinsic qualities (what character, size, accessories, build quality, etc). Instead, the value assessment is one of relative value. You know why stores don't let you see how much stock they have remaining anymore? Because people used the assumption of high backstock as leverage to wait or ask for (or even demand) a discount. It's the same reason you don't see massive piles (of Metroplex or whatever) on dealer room floors often anymore either. If you put even _two_ of something out, you'll get the "oh me oh my" song and dance from somebody that wants a bargain more than they want a toy. The sadistic part of this is that pushing out the reasonable operators like that just expands the playing field for jackasses that deliberately scalp/hoard to flip for triple retail. Mattel/MattyCollector wasn't stupid when they faked all of those sellouts. They were trying to get people to pay retail price for their product, so they didn't have to pay triple on the aftermarket when they "missed out" by waiting for a fire sale that never happened.

Well, this arrived yesterday... Surprise birthday present from family that recently traveled through China on the way back from the P.I. No idea what they paid over there, but I guess I have an actual Thomas in addition to my KO Thomas now. Not sure if I'm going to open him or sell him and give the money back to the fam just because I feel bad that they must've spent a few hundred on this guy during pandemic times.

Does anyone know if the second batch for FT Thomas has been released already?

I paid the full invoice with Terry's but my order hasn't been shipped yet.
