Yeah, this one I assumed it could be a 'metallic' color/finish of sort, but that's true, it could easily be the toon variant as well.

 

isn't the EX designation for highly G1 toy specific versions with heavy metallic paint application?

So yeah, I'm kind of in that niche-within-a-niche audience looking for a decent looking deluxe-ish galvatron to throw into my generations display (he actually seems to be almost a full head shorter than most of the pre-siege deluxes, but oh well). I just gotta see the transformation scheme before I start thinking to save towards it.

 

Give us the grey toy/comic variant.... we wants the precious...

But in all seriousness the Megatron EX is based off the toy so there is a chance for a grey EX version.

Same thought. At the moment I can't recall the exact alt mode for cartoon Galvatron, but that doesn't look bad at all.

Edit - Judging by the photo, it looks like the same figure from the first pics... Same paint deco of the promo shots, minus the metallic/glittery finish and the grays seem a bit lighter as well. Could it be a prototype, or - by NA's record - a different version?

Oh hey, neat, I hadn't seen this. Looks sharp!!
I have a few Legends Decepticons and I'll need this to be a tad larger than the MS Soundwave to fit in, and .. that may bot be the case. So it might not work for me, but man, sure does look nice.
Galvatron is my guy - It's hard for me to say no to a really nice Galvatron.
This one looks very movie blue purple, they may put out a more Season 3 red purple, but this looks nice just as it is.

 

Heh kind of silly looking but then Galvatrons alt mode was always silly looking.

 

For being so small, I think it looks great.

It has the "best" from Tyrant and Sovereign.

 

How so?

 

The alt-mode is similar to Tyrant's and the robot mode looks like a mini Sovereign.
