I think that people are missing the point here, APC toys is giving us the best of Prime, not the most accurate Prime figures, this isn't an MP line, I have FE Arcee and RID Arcee and I absolutely understand why they choose this mold, FE Arcee is marvelous, her articulation is insane and 0 fake parts! RID Arcee is more screen accurate (only the wings and chest) buy FE Arcee is superior in every way, I'm not talking about the head because APC will obviously make a new head sculpt, and that was the worst part about FE Arcee, her face, and last but not least, RID Arcee is still available at """regular"" prices (50$ maybe) but FE Arcee is scalped as hell, and giving people the opportunity to enjoy this mold without paying such prices (just like Prime FE and Bulkhead) is one of the most fan-friendly choices that I've seen from a company since WJ's products, I'm impressed about this, I ordered Prime and Megs yesterday and I just cannot wait!

 

I wonder whether they'll downsize her, and if we can expect any improvement over the original figure.

 

One improvement I spy already is that APC seems to be including more pronounced handguards on Arcee's forearms. This detail was lacking on the official release. Maybe we will also see more paint apps in that area? Curiously, a third-party addon also just popped up to add these handguards to the official toy.

am i better off getting prime on showz or just finding one on ebay cuz i've heard less than stellar things about showz's shipping lol

 

I mean my last 4 figures took about 2 weeks each to get to me and the only packaging issue I had was ordering a loose figure so it unfortunately bounced around too much in the bubble wrap/box and a small piece broke. Never had a single issue with any new packaged figures.

It's a shame that they are using the First Edition figure. The RID one is much better.

 

Passing on Arcee, but you know, now that I think about it, I'd be all for a Flamewar redeco/retool.

 

FE ko is cool. There is still the official RiD version and the new RED non-transforming version on the way. So we have plenty of options. That being said, I don’t think I’ll pass on anything APC drops on us.

 

So what's the consensus on these? Are they as high quality as they look? Because the original Prime figures new are pretty, pretty expensive...

As far as the plastic quality - as good as, maybe even better than, the originals. Certainly better paint apps/details.

 

2nd on vouching on these. You really can't go wrong, as your also getting a complete set of accessories that even the officials omitted like the 2nd gun and a sword. Plus, Megatron has been upsized. Did I miss the fact they are about $50 or less shipped depending where you get them from?

I would watch these closely until your ready to buy then. The OP has two versions already. I consider the 1st version as a straight up KO (mostly because of the colors) and the 2nd as the "toon" accurate one.

Some of these companies like to run changes on every new batch. I haven't seen anything coming to suggest that would happen again but just throwing that out there. I forgot that the last OP version (V2) had two variants; one was China only, which didn't have the smoke stacks weathered and everywhere else release version that had the weathering.

 

I felt like the build and plastic quality of APC Optimus was almost identical to the official version.

APC megs imo felt a little cheap out of the box but looks amazing. Might be due to the fact that it’s an upscaled deluxe figure but the plastic feels a little thin and brittle as though I could easily snap or break something. I don’t have any issues with mine and still strongly recommend him but was a little underwhelmed with first impressions in-hand.
