Looks great, glad I held out for this face sculpt looks good but the details look softened buy the paint like XTB Savant.

 

I mean, I think I would buy it on that principle alone.

 

Kups looking great. Hmm late december so probably the trailer is slated for next year.

That's what I assumed, that they'd match Takara's hunk-of-junk Hot Rod. I mean it makes sense for them to adhere to that style, rather than try and compete with FansToys own product and scale. Ah well, like I said, I;m happy with Koot.

 

I reckon any TT v2 Hot Rod will be a similar height too, though. He's Sunbow scale chart accurate I believe.

 

A bigger head with better face sculpt ( thicken the helmet) , will make this thing much better than FT's pretty much from all the pespects.

 

I've looked at these pics for a few days and I'm not convinced this is an upgrade to Koot. It's not just the facesculpt (which FT nailed), it's also the proportions of the whole upper torso area feel off to me (although it may be because I'm just used to Koot's proportions by now). I'm also not crazy about the windshield gap in alt mode. I hope that gets fixed by the final release.

 

Don't see how this is an improvement over FT's version(and I am far from being an FT fan), but I guess it is good to have options.

 

That's kinda the point (for me), if it doesnt really look better (or worse) than FT's but is easier to transform, i would rather have it on myshelf.

 

Probably because it's a photoshop and not accurate. The perspectives are completely different. We're looking down at Locke and up at mp28.

 

The arms and shoulders look weird too. Deformed. Definitely pass. XTB has issues nailing the proper proportions on current MP sized figures.

I think the proportions of Locke are more in line with the spirit of the character. Koot has a bulky upper body, giving him more of a "strongman superhero" look. Whereas Kup's just supposed to look like a dumpy old timer. It's the same issue as with Tesla 1.0 (although admittedly not as severe).

 

One thing to note is at least this guy looks to have an unhindered waist swivel.

 

Both have issues. The mid section looks better on FT's. I am also not sure who does XTB's face sculpts nowadays, but that face does not look good. Kup never joined the Faceless Men.

 

I do hope he comes with a Target Master though.
