Added some repros to OSKO UM. As the toy can't host symbols on the shoulder armour (like the G1 toy), I added one on his abdomen (similar to the G1 toy).



I also added a cheeky little faction symbol to OSKO Dropkick.

 

Looking for some advice: I bought this grimlock based on MP-08x a while back and don’t have instructions for the transformation. It’s not too complex but I’m stuck on trying to get the legs to fold together and I’m assuming I’m missing something obvious here. I cannot seem to get the top of each leg to “fold up”.

Here's another KO I dug out of storage. It's been sealed in my collection for at least ten years, but I thought I'd open this one for your enjoyment- The Lian ye oversized Soundwave. The figure is in black Soundblaster colours, and comes with oversized Steeljaw & Ramhorn cassettes. The weapons are the same size as the original, so you can get a good idea of the scale (roughly a third bigger). Awful plastic quality, loose arms, and an amazing light & sound feature make this a peak KO figure.

 

Thanks for your reply. After messing with it some more (and using the linked instructions and watching a few videos) it looks like the plastic pieces at the top of the legs are physically too large to fold into the “crotch” piece. I’ll probably have to force them in there somehow.

 

Oh, and for those that are interested, here's the light & sounds feature in action. It's glorious.

 

Your welcome! Too bad that it is a defect and not just a simple misunderstanding. There is a similar (identical) problem that I have with an AOE Grimlock. (the vacuum metalized leader class one) It’s funny that two completely different vacuum metalized Grimlocks made by two completely different companies have the same tolerance issue. Mine cannot go to dinosaur mode due to the abdominal slider being impossible to move without damaging. I would recommend deciding if losing the chrome on the tabs would be worth it to you for transformation, since you could always just file them down a little and color them with gold sharpie.

Wow that really is peak KO! Amazing. Are the hip joints transparent plastic? It’s also great that not a single sticker on there make sense. And the cassette choice is fantastic.

the hip and arm joints are orange plastic. The only clear plastic I can see is the cassette drawer on his chest.

Well, that certainly clears things up a bit for me. Again, I appreciate it. I’m going to go ahead and file those areas down to make them fit. I had planned on leaving it in dino mode anyway, so while it’s not ideal, I can live with it.

Just had a thought for the KO red Onslaught. Use him as Missile Master, leader of the Astro Squad. Maybe add some 3d printed missiles and Autobot logos. All set.

That looks like it could be pre-BW Cataclysm, IDW Costa Figueroa Red Alert, IDW Ambulon, or the Red Omnibot. Cool find!

 

I'm using the red First Aid KO as part of a Combiner Wars Perceptor custom. Using the Titans Return head.

The Dawn of the Predacus comic actually mentions that Perceptor was part fo the Magnaboss combiner until he died and they had Unit-3 take his place. So there is precident for Perceptor as a Combiner Wars limb.
