I don't think he understands what he's talking about.

So, these Dr. Wu micro figures seem cool, but who's the audience for them? Most of us who collect Legends scale already go for IF or New Age, but...this feels like a weird attempt to appeal to an even more niche base.

look I’ve had this theory since they announced core class and the Titan Class Ark was “leaked” (if it’s true at all) my delusions are only based in wanting cool toys let me be wrong on the forums pls lmao

perhaps I gave a wrong impression with the term “arms race” I don’t actually think it’s that serious but I doubt that it’s coincidence that Hasbro brings back the Legends scale when the Third Party guys across SEVERAL different companies have been working on legends scale stuff, especially when we know that they’re aware of third party stuff with all the lawsuits and raids and shit. Not that the third party guys don’t have arms races themselves (really love that they’re making a proper MPG1 Deathsaurus after I got the MMC version ) but for Hasbro to be doing small scale legacy characters around the same time, there had to be at least SOME influence there.

that being said I do appreciate that there’s a new class for super small characters and hope it focuses more on those guys as opposed to “here’s a character you already have but smaller and not as good”

You’re right I don’t but when has a lack of proper knowledge stopped anyone else on this website from posting

And yes, I do think this figure is made for the people who want legacy characters scaled to the current Micromasters. But as one of those people my only complaint is I know this toy will cost me 50 bucks so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No, it's entirely coincidental. Unless they're copypasta scum like Weijang, Hasbro doesn't consider Third Party to be any sort of threat to their markets. If they did, we'd be seeing 3P groups getting completely shut down for copyright infringement on the likenesses of the characters, if that's even possible. Hasbro only went after Weijang because the latter would straight up steal existing Hasbro designs and just scale them up. Everyone else does their own unique engineering.

Dr Wu, you losing me here. If you gonna make figures keep pumping out the movie stuff thats too small for Hasbro to put in studio series. Or finish the micromaster teams Hasbro started with the same aesthetic. But not this...

is this post meant to make weijang seem not based bc now I’m just more sad they’re gone, more copyright stealing please it’s objectively awesome

And like, just because Hasbro isn’t sending feds to raid their factory doesn’t mean they’re not aware that the third parties are filling a gap in a market Hasbro hasn’t touched at that point.

am I a lunatic connecting pictures on a cork board with red yarn? Yes, absolutely, anyone taking my word more seriously than that is a fool. But this is super low stakes and i don’t think THIS kind of wild speculation hurts anyone

Hasbro official policy is to deny 3P existence but internally they know they fill in a market they will never be able to satisfy so they're cool with it.

That's interesting, so there ok with 3rd parties making their own designs and molds

But they do still have a problem with directly ripping off toys they've already made, as in actual Ko's of a physical product that already exists, right?

So what about those ko's that make improvements or changes to the original, I suppose that would still fall into the latter,

Wei Jiang just did hasbro's figures better than Hasbro by improving on their Detail, Articulation, Size, and Engineering. They weren't "Scum". They were better. Also it wasn't hasbro that raided them, it was Disney. AND their Black Apple MPM-04 is STILL the Greatest 3p Figure to ever exist.

ON a more on-topic note: These guys are adorable and I want them all.

If we get a blaster in a similar style to earthrise soundwave

Then I'm hoping prime can fit in blaster and soundwave can fit in soundwave

Elementary knowledge of simple commerce and economics says that you are wrong.
There is no chance that an organization that controls the market does nothing while others encroach on it. Regardless of their
success to rectify this situation, they are aware and they do care. A LOT. If they dont they need to restructure their management and
    fire all their strategy planners.

They dont do anything, or they do little, because the costs of going to courts over such complicated matters costs a ton, as has been proven with prior historical precedents that nearly ruined large corporations with little to show as a result.

"Better toys" doesn't hold up in court when they're knock offs though. Hasbro has shut down 3P companies that copy TF toys before, like Justitoys

    which one is Destroy Empero?
