A lot? No, but it happens. I got a ML sunfire with two left shins, DC Spoiler with two right legs, and I also got a set of Magic Square seekers that had two starscreams and no skywarp. Paint is usually the largest issue on Hasbro/Mattel figures, so if you count sloppy paint as a real issue then the answer is yes, it does happen a lot. But paint is subjective and in the eye of the beholder. I'm pretty forgiving as long as their eyes aren't crossed, while others nitpick the paint to death and constantly complain about having to buy online because they can't inspect with a jeweler's loop pre-purchase. Clearly YMMV.

But paint aside, the more parts a thing has, the more opportunities for something to be incorrect. It's a hazard of collecting relatively inexpensive, chinese-made stuff.

Way back I've even had a Transformer (ROTF Ratchet, I believe) where one part of its limbs was a duplicate of the other side and actually impacted the ability to transform, so I returned it as defective. Thankfully a case where I don't remember seeing the figure end up back on store shelves instead!

Hasbro has its share of Transformers flubs. Two left hands, joints assembled incorrectly. It's unfortunate but not unheard of.

    Two interesting bits of info.

Firstly, the next wave of Heroes. Second, a reason why there is one five in the wave.

EDIT: This is the next batch of Heroes, not blind bags. I am stupido.

IKR? At least the others in the wave all look amazing though. Gonna have to pick up at least 2 of each.

I want to believe their story about "spoiler moving" the figure back, but MoTU Cases/Black Series MCx Cases/CoD Cases have all shifted to 5 a set.

So I still think this will be the norm and they'll sweep it under the rug once people are acclimated to it and no longer care.

Could be wrong though, here hoping considering Series 10 was a one off with 10 named characters...I lose sight of that already.

I’ve seen some speculation that the mystery character is Jega. Which I really hope for.

By the by. I really hope the Heroes series starts doing more named characters. I know I just got back in, and it’s on me that I missed all the Heroes they did over the last few years, but this current is boring as hell. This wave looks a little cooler, but it’s still not really anybody. I feel like the blindbags should be reserved for generic characters while the Heroes should be more premium and prominent characters/figures.

Of course. 343 could also make some of the Spartan IV’s actually characters this time around, too, beside Locke and his generic ass crew. Are they even in Infinite?

Yeah, Heroes should be named characters and blind bags should be troop builders.

Especially since the only difference for the price anymore is whether the figure come with a useless stand or a useless tile.

And, really, since the code system is busted and known after the first case gets out there, they may as well evenly sort the figures in the blind bags instead of making certain figures "rare".

"Oh, this figure is 'rare'. My possession of it makes my collection that much better than yours. Too bad the scalpers got to all the ones in your area first."

Yeah I saw. That. While I didn’t care for any of Osiris, besides Vale, and think Guardians would have been much more personal if it had just been between Locke and Chief, I don’t want Locke to die. He was a good character, and I was actually hoping he would be like the Arbiter in Halo 3 for Infinite. Not killed off off-screen, which would be both a huge disservice and a huge waste.

Also. I don’t think MC should be scared of doing 2.0 versions of some character already in the Heroes line. Some go for absurd amounts of money. Break up teams by waves and release one member from each team in a wave together( Buck, Tanaka, Jorge, etc.) and you gave enough fuel for another year and a half.

    Agreed.

Though I'm not happy at all if any if them died, but I was never a fan of how Bungie killed off people, either so.

If they kill off Locke just to appease the people that want nothing but Chief, it will be disappointing. If they want to establish a prosperous profitable Haloverse, you create characters and spin off for those characters, like Star Wars. You don't kill them off because the people that want to live in 2001/2004/2007 can't accept new things. They did Halo Wars right, and a lot of fans are dying to see Chief with Red Team, but thst coukd also tie in with Red Team being from Bungie Era and not looking like "Power Rangers", etc., moreso that they were introduced as antagonistic "upgrades" to Blue Team/Spartan II's...because they are Spartan II's.

But can you imagine a game following Gray Team, or Black Team (now dead- killed in a comic of course by the Didact, also killed in a comic). Or what about Kilo-5?

I would like them to make Team sets of the ones that came individually (Noble, Majestic) and heroes of the ones that came in team sets (Osiris).

Either way there's no excuse to not be able to with different paint apps (How many He-Mans and Master Chiefs do we have now?), which is what they have said is a reason for them not re-releasing figures (because retailers need to see something "new", evidently).

I can understand not wanting re-releases to tie up the existing Heroes line; which as we can see, is bad enough with the filler generics (save for showcasing new molds, which arguably the 12/13 are doing).

I don't know, it's a tough balance because the more they do, the harder it also is to get every figure, and the shorter time they're out there before the next series. And as Hicks points out, you end up with a lot of shelf warmers.

Missing or incorrect pieces are a little too common with MC. They do try to avoid this with regular pieces by adding extra parts that are sets of opposites (such as angled plates for wings) recently, but they don't do this for the figure parts. It's nice to have the extras, but it shows Mega knows their part allocation process is not as reliable as it should be. Lego is much better at including all the correct parts and only add extras of small parts.

There can always be unique cases here and there for any toy with multiple parts. I've had a couple Transformers with opposite parts on the wrong side, never ran into this issue with the modern GI Joe figures though. I don't collect any Mattel stuff besides Mega to comment on their track record otherwise.

I have bought many MCX sets over the years and it only happened to me one. I contacted MCX and they sent me the missing part. I’ve had it a few times with LEGO and I am still waiting on a replacement piece for my Sesame Street set...

Yes, Mega's QC may be spotty but their Customer Service is pretty solid.

... Possibly because their QC isn't as reliable and they have had lots of practice.

"Okay guys, we know our quality... isn't... perfect... great? ... ... ... It has issues. Buuuut we can tackle that on the backend with making sure customers get replacement parts as they need, when they need! Go team!"

Got what might be my definitive Chief today.

Went ahead and bought another Warthog online as I can’t resist at $17, plus the Chief vs Arby set, Heroes Centurian(my favorite armor, maybe?) and one of the customizer 2-packs. For $52 total. What a fucking steal.

Anybody here customize their Spartans? I am... no stranger when it comes to customizing, but I’ve never done it with any MC figures before. I’ve been thinking about it but I don’t have any desired figures in hand or good ideas.

You could have army built that Chief for a dollar a figure around here four months ago. Glad you like it, too bad the customer base around here didn't.

Found another Fisto in the wild yesterday. It's face had random purple and brown splotches on it. Clearly he had been trying to put his fist where it didn't belong.

I wonder how Mega’s customer service compares to LEGO’s Customer Service?
