Macross 7 episode 16 had one of the biggest death flags ever. Finally this show is starting to make sense.

 

Holy fucking shit Overlord Season III is off the chain!!!!!!! Not only does it have the best opening song I have heard from an anime in years but god damn the shit has been hitting the fan like nothing. Ains is just slaughtering everyone left and right and I love it. It's quite interesting because even though everything he is doing seems down right evil, he's doing it all in a heroic manner for the better of those he considers to be friends and family.

 

Senyoku no Sigrdrifa episode 7, wow things got really bad.

 

Watching Attack on Titan for second time absolutely love it wish there was going to be more then four seasons .

 

Well, it's ending by season 4 and the manga ends this December. All good things come to an end.

 

I know it just sucks it's I hope the creator of the series gets an itch and comes back with new content for the series.

 

I'd rather it end on a satisfying note than it go on and on forever. Things that go on too long get bad after awhile. Just look at the Simpsons.

 

Considering the series lasted like 10+ volumes longer than the creator said it was going to be, I'd say it overstayed its welcome. Not to mention the anime's pacing was horrendous with how poorly adapted it was. Things that should have been slower were done too quickly and things that did not need to be more than an episode long were dragged out.

And we are now done with Overlord. I hope the next season doesn't take too much longer to come out as I want to see where this stuff plays out. Plus, I'm a little disappointed the princess didn't get to do much this season.

All I've got to say in regards to the last four episodes is "DAMN!!!"

 

Giving Karas a third try. Last 2 times I tried to watch it I was bored I could not finish the first episode. I think the problem here is you get tossed in the world without any exposition or idea of what's going on and you don't know which characters you're supposed to follow or root for.

 

Karas as in the two part armored super heroes OVA? Even being the huge Toku fan I am I still found that series to be an utter and complete borefest.

 

6 episodes, about armored heroes killing yokai. I think the closest thing would be Garo but I've not seen a Garo series so I'm basing it on your reviews. The story is not good, they didn't bother to give us any kind of story in the beginning and then all of a sudden they care. This is a show you watch for action scenes. This time I was able to stand it now that I got more familiar with Toku shows, but I'd say it was a waste of time.

 

I was thinking more like Shokugeki no Souma. The manga gets stupid at the end.

 

My bad, yeah, it was 6 episodes across two DVDs.

Yeah, I found it utterly boring as fucking hell.

 

Honestly looks like a Garo Knockoff, doesn't sound too good from what you say here, but how many episodes is it? some beginning Heisei and almost definitely Showa era Toku would throw you in then build around.

"gets stupid" is putting it mildly, it became an absolute flaming piles of poop in a trash can by the end of the manga, a definition of just continuing it for the money, so if AoT goes that route, it'll be interesting to see.


The sleepy princess can single-highhandedly wipe out the demons while the hero dies for the 10324204th time.
Kuma Kuma continues to be OP and wow people with her cooking, curious how the first episode relates to the rest of the series.
The DxD collab got me reinvested in Senran Kagura so I'll probably jump into that again during Thanksgiving.

 

Karas actually debuted before Garo, if only by a little bit. It premiered in spring 2005 in a pay-per-view format, while the Garo tokusatsu series debuted in the fall of that same year.

It's been quite a while since I've seen it. I remember the first half being pretty messy and confusing, just stringing together fights in ways that didn't make a lot of sense, but the back half of the series being a bit more clear and straightforward. I remember it getting quite the bit of hype from publications for being the height of CG anime at the time, but in retrospect, it was certainly a product of its time, and probably doesn't hold up.

 

I think the dub actually had real actors, I want to say Matthew Lillard was one of the VAs. Might actually watch it tonight, now that people have talked it up.

 

IIRC, the first set had Matt Lillard and Piper Perabo. The second half replaced Piper with veteran voice actress Cree Summer.

I was thinking that about the sleepy princess too. She is a very efficient killer.

 

From what I remember, it seemed like the first episode took place between the third and fourth episodes. At the least I know one of the episodes begins with her having the spoils of her first episode victory.
