Amazon Exclusive Earthrise Autobot Alliance 2-Pack Ironhide + Prowl Received In Decimated Condition With Inspected By Amazon Sticker

Just received this in the mail. Outside envelope in perfect condition but the item is destroyed...and surprise, surprise, can't order a new one because it's sold out and scalpers are selling it now for over $100.00. Amazon sucks. Can anyone help me please fix this and secure me a replacement? I don't know who to turn to. Thanks.

If the figures are fine, sell them on and wait for a (possible) restock.

Why are amazon exclusives always up for a long time before selling out and then end up being 2-3x more expensive as soon as they sell out?

I mean, they're usually only available for a few months, and we never know if they are coming back.

It's partly why I just gave up on them and decided to stick with all of my Siege versions, because it's turning out to be quite a headache (if I receive a defective one, it's either return it for a refund or live with a useless figure), and I simply just don't care anymore.

The limited nature of these high demand characters is stupid.

Yup. There's a whole process when this happens. Also, would be worth double checking if you bought from Amazon or *Amazon Warehouse.*

Because that looks like a Warehouse item where they concluded the product was fine even if the package was beat to shit.

But it's not like they're selling out in a matter of minutes, they stay up for months and people have many opportunities to purchase.

Yeah this. I mean I'd the figures are okay just chick the packaging. To me the toys themselves are more important anyways.

I'm glad you're well off to be able to always afford them, but for people like me who collect more than just Transformers and are on a tight budget, things like this sometimes have to wait until the funds are available.

If the figures are fine, keep them. Ask for a refund. Then try to see if someone here'll sell you the box.

But that's true of anything. There are figures in regular retail waves who we could miss if the window came/went when we didn't have the funds.

Hell, it's true of anything beyond Transformers. There are things I would love to purchase, but can't/don't because of other things I need to pay for. One doesn't have to be "well off" to be able to afford the hobby. It's just balancing the hobby with other commitments.

So 1st... This isnt news? 2nd. That is an Amazon Warehouse Deals sticker on that box. They give a general description of the condition of it when you order it. That... isnt a delivery issue. Thats them sending you what you ordered. if you did NOT order it from Warehouse Deals, then thats an issue.

You would turn to the seller. Not sure why you would think anyone here would be able to help. Especially in the News section.

I am really curious about the condition of the figures. If it was a warehouse deal I can just imagine it said something like "cosmetic damage to the package, toy in new condition". The cosmetic damage being the side ripped open would not be what any of us would expect but I can totally see it qualifying as such if the toys are complete and unbroken. Have you opened it and checked the figures? If they aren't broken if it was a warehouse deal noting damaged packaging you're probably out of luck to get a refund or replacement. Even still if you send those pictures to customer service they might give you a discount code for a future purchase.

Can you post pictures of the inner tray with the figures in it. I am interested academically as to whether the torn outer corrugated box resulted in broken/incomplete toys or not.

I can send you the box if that's an issue. I don't have the plastic insert, but the box is in fine shape.

Ah okay, this is what Amazon Warehouse items are like. This thread is getting me educated!

So this was likely a return made by someone else? Are these usually discounted from MSRP? How likely is it the OP bought this without knowing it was Warehouse?

Not all Amazon Warehouse items are like this. I can think of 3 purchases I've made through them and only 1 was damaged like that. Both the NVME SSD and Modem/Router I purchased came in pristine condition. Only thing? Tape was broken, neither item was actually used. (I'm guessing the customer received it, was the wrong item, they sent it back.)

Metroplex came in a twisted/smashed box that looked awful, but he was complete and mint. It was one of the reasons I finally decided to join Prime, years ago.

As for knowing it comes from the warehouse? Oh, yes. It flat out says it's warehouse stuff and what condition it's in.

Not as bad, but as they did with other orders I've seen they just slapped a shipping label on my box and delivered it like that.

Personally I don't get much from Amazon. Not a big fan.
