Swoop's eyes are still strange. Their portholes are not 5mm and look 6mm or 7mm.

Just sharing my setup for Volcanicus! BPF 1:1 Grimlock with BMB Dino Limbs + OS Slash as Armor.

Wanted the BPF Grimlock due to it packaged together with an OS WFC Grimlocks Sword and overall looked better proportioned with the rest of the OS team compared to the OS Grimlock (IMO). Also because I ordered a third party upgrade for Grimlock that let's him have extra height in robot mode and extra dino feet when in T-Rex mode.

PS: Had to use the BPF Snarl as an arm since the seller I bought it from was so utterly stupid they insists that BMB and BPF has no differences and called my complaints an overreaction. Welp, that's one more seller into my block list. 20210121_144240.jpg

I picked up the OS BMB Dinobots off ebay and they arrived Friday. Have been playing with them all weekend. Pretty happy with the set, especially for the cost. These do not feel like KO's; plastic quality is just as good as official, imho. There's die cast parts, so each figure has some weight to them, and it does make them feel good in hand. Although I wish they remained plastic as the die cast does cause some balance issues with the arms in combined mode. Granted, most CW combiners already had these issues anyway, just that the die cast here doesn't help.

My set arrived with 3 swords and 3 guns, which I guess is the norm in most auctions. Also picked up OS BMB Slash, so I have an extra sword, gun, and pair of CW fists. I've been perusing the last 30+ pages of this thread to catch up on any tips for display/combination/Slash configurations. Above pic is where I'm at currently. I lost the link from my clipboard, but I think it's on page 77ish where someone posted an alternate configuration for the feet. You essentially plug one of the extra fists to the back of the feet and then put a gun in each side's thumb port. This fleshes out the feet and really helps fix one of the aesthetic issues I have with the default Volcanicus. Proportions were always aesthetically out of whack for this set, but just fixing the feet really helps make the rest of the awkward proportions more believable. The combiner mode is holding together pretty well and I have no issues with any of the combiner joints. Grimlock is solid as a torso, which I'm reading isn't always the case for the official. I haven't tried any of the unofficial fan torso modes for Grimlock yet.

I've been playing with most of the suggested Slash configurations and wasn't happy with any of them. That and she doesn't cling properly to the front of the chest, to my satisfaction at least, so I gave up on any front attachment. Ended up playing with the backpack configurations since the gestalt really needs some counterweight, however small, in the back anyway. Found the configuration(again pictured above) that I settled on. The gestalt head technically doesn't need the back red plate since the front clip to the back of Grimlock's dino head does most of that work. So I flipped that up and tucked Slash's gold back plate on top of it and it holds pretty well. Granted it doesn't lock in and you can just lift it out, but it holds a nice center position and more importantly looks good from the front. From the side it almost looks like Slash's tail might be Grimlock's dino tail only mass displaced, which is nice. I have a pic below which shows how Slash attaches from the back of Volcanicus.

As far as individual QC goes. Slag has loose dino horns, which seems to be the norm for this set. It's not really that big of a deal since they're not *that* loose. Swoop has some paint defects on the lower right side of his bot head. Not a big deal. Biggest issue with my set is Snarl, and I'm reading this might be commonplace too. Some of his back plates are warped. Although comparing my set to some in this thread pages back, mine aren't near as bad as some others.

Love the individual bot modes. Although I wish they would have "fixed" the PotP ports some of them have in their chests by filling them in which is a lost opportunity. Saw some pics pages back where the Autobot symbol is a nice and easy fix for that. The dino modes are decent, and their flaws are the PotP flaws, which are partly fixed here by simply being OS.

This is a WYSIWYG set, and at the cost, definitely worth it if you're interested in what you see. Having Slash helps open up your combined mode options with the extra set of CW fists and also gives you an extra sword and gun. Plus Slash is a nice dinobot on her own. So if you're interested in Volcanicus at all, try to find an auction with Slash.

Also pictured below, alternate chest configurations using the extra combiner fists and guns. I'm sticking with the configuration at the top of this post.
