That could just be a retool of Optimus Primal, or at least share the same transformation.

The blackbird here is the version with the forward swept wings - maybe a Cyclonus remold? Titans Return (possible combiner)? Kingdom?

So besides the obvious “It’s going to be the SR-71,” what would y’all like to see from this? I could definetly see a Kingdom Primal retooled as Beast or a couple of X-Men characters as Titan Masters. Maybe the Blackbird is Kingdom Cyclonus? The old Fantastic Four Human Torch Crossovers figure looked a lot like Cyclonus. Anything else vaguely creative that could come from this? Wolverine’s motorcycle from Groove?

I'm probably very much in the minority here, but I would be more interested on a Smokey and the Bandit crossover figure than a Knight Rider one.

Of course, Bandittron would need to include a detachable hat. :D

Probably doesn't stand much of chance of happening, but I would really love a Transformers / DC crossover where the Autobots meet the Justice League. Even if the toy sucked, I wouldn't mind that much as long as there was a tie-in comic. The thought of seeing Optimus Prime and Superman together puts a smile of my face. It would be even better if it was the DCAU Justice League.

Yeah, I definitely would want a robot head on it. If it was something like a robot head with a Cyclops visor, well that would be pretty cool. But just popping a X-Men character's head on a robot body would look terrible.

A Batman TAS or 89 movie Batmobile or Batwing could conceivably be good. Or maybe a Nolanverse Tumbler Batmobile. I could see the former two being a Generations-style toy while the latter could be more of a Bayverse Studio Series sort of thing (just hopefully not with a Bayverse-style face).

Wait. I had a wild idea. What if the robot mode's has some danger room based accessories? Like having a mobile danger room/ battlestation mode.

Siege Springer would be great for a 1989 Batmobile.

We just need the licensing gods appeased to make it happen. It stands a better chance now that DC and Mattel have parted ways. I don't see McFarlane raising objections because he doesn't do transforming robots and this would likely be higher pricepoint, different scale, and limited release.

    Neat.

I\'m honestly a little more interested in the inevitable tie-in comic book for this one... I\'d love something like the Trek crossover where it\'s specifically with like, the \'92 animated series version of the team, or the Bayverse cast crossing over with the OG X-men movie-verse.

And yeah, the toy will just be the Blackbird, although IDK if it\'ll be a licensed SR-71 or some of the more abstracted versions they\'ve used in the comics over the years.

Cool enough on the surface. Now it only feels like a matter of time before Disney buys Hasbro.

So first Ectotron for Ghostbusters (Sony), then they did Gigawatt for Back to the Future (Universal), then they did Maverick for Top Gun (Paramount), and now they are doing the Blackbird for Marvel's Uncanny X-Men (Disney).

    Oh man!!

I don't think this will end up being a Studio Series Jetfire retool because of how unique a design that character is. There's not really a way to make him look like something other than an old crotchety guy. Of course there are old men in the X Men universe, but one is in a wheelchair and the other wouldn't make sense turning into the X Jet.

Besides, the X Jet isn't always a realistic SR71, it can be stylized giving the designers more options.

I don't know that it's going to be the SR-71. I mean, it certainly MAY be since that was the first X-Men Blackbird. Still, the reverse swept-wing Blackbird has been around since the early 90's, the cartoon, etc. so I think that's just as, if not more, likely.
