Can someone tell the difference with this canon and the one on the regular release?

It's shorter and more stubby. Missing the small guide rod under the main barrel design. Looks cool. Now that jet pack...

Once again, too bad they didn't think to throw in an additional, toon colored head from the first set (pictured in the promo shot), especially for those like me who bought the more recent reissue (toon accurate, but with a metallic head, for some odd reason).

 

I have the MSB18B+ in my hands... Well my first impression is a "yes but no". In overall the figure has good points but... It's so damn shinny and darky. It has dead eyes (pipe light), the articulations are VERY tight. The paint is good, without chipping or marks. The windows are awesome translucent. The trailer has slightly differences. I'm colourblind but I can notice a darker grey on the plastics and the ramp is black. My trailer came with a bended piece, impossible to fix, it has very rigid materials.

Well, I want to keep it as a trailer form, but mate, do I need to buy the improvement kit too? All my collection is matte finish, so this one is for displaying alone in another shelf.

I recommend him? Absolutely, but if you have the regular version, probably it's not necessary. It won't fit on a matte collection.

 

I feel you, pal... I'm actually wondering if I need/want to buy the first release of Light of Justice too, only to swap heads with my 'MP-44 colors' reissue...
As cool and premium as this latest X release looks, it would be 100% out of place in my display, so it's an easy pass to me.

 

Comparison pictures of the Metallic 2.0 with the last regular version (mine has the face painted). BETTER than I thought in truck mode, just gorgeous. As you can see, the metallic colour is very shiny and darky, it don't fits very well with a regular collection. I have to paint the dead eyes in metallic blue. No signs of chipping during the transformation but I was very VERY carefully in the process, everything is too tight. View attachment 28846187 View attachment 28846188

Was there a difference in the red plastic of the non-metallic first run and non-metallic second run?

 

nope...the only real difference was the paint apps on the chest windows and the missing paint on the lower legs.

i think the head had blacked out eyes as well. but i dont remember exactly.

Also I have a question. Sorry if it sounds disrespectful but by colorblind, is it that you can't identify specific colors?

 

I'll try to post pics of all 4 versions and my thoughts this weekend.

 

Lots of colors are very similar to me. But hey! I can paint and customize things, so... the life maybe hasn't too many colours, don't you think?   I can't be wrong!

well my metallic prime v1 just showed up this monday. i know im really late to the game obviously. but im definitely feeling this version of the mold.

while i was in the process of stripping off the paint on his light piped eyes. something strange happened and the process caused them to turned bright yellow...lol

so for the time being i have a total G1-ish legends prime.

Hey Magic Square, you do know that you guys can do lots of different repaints of Optimus: regular, toy, black, diaclone blue, bape red, bape green, bape grey, dead version, shattered glass.

Sure, you've done some of those, but you keep on releasing variances of the classic colours.

How about a Bape green one? Or even prettier, a diaclone blue?
