SS Dino feels exactly like one of those old mainline toys where his redeco would look so much more appealing due to not being based on a character with a licensed alt mode. Like the figure is fine, but 90% of the disappointment is from knowing he's supposed to be a Ferrari and isn't one.

 

I only block for racism and bigotry, which thankfully hasn't happened to me. God help the fucker who does throw that shit my way.

I don't block because unlike you it seems, I don't really get day to day upset about fans that I don't know in real life talking about fandom stuff. It's the lowest priorty thing in my entire life. Plus, I actually like to think that people can talk about stuff even if they may not always agree.

I like to think that people are just people and even the most insane, most ridiculously self righteous wannabe white knights have good things to say time to time.

And no. I do think for a company a level of jerkiness does extend to all kinds of aspects. Are they jerks? I do think as a whole Ferrari are a jerkish company. They've always been arrogant, thanks to the history of Enzo Ferrari and the culture he raised his company by. The fact that other luxury or supercar manufacturers are willing to extend licenses to pretty much anyone who can pay up is telling about Ferrari's inability to. Ferrari is a pretty monolithic company. Their arrogant attitude is something that pervades the company, not just Scuderia but also their automotive business and dealings.

 

This isn't it at all. Ferrari only allows one toy company a year to use it's vehicles likeness.

I think Dino would look better if that little bit of car kibble, at the end of the door, would fold in.

 

Obviously this couldn’t live up to the AA Fireage, but I think it does an acceptable job at recreating his robot mode. I’m honestly not a Dino fan or SS collector, but if someone wants an official figure for their collection in both modes, they might as well just buy this and a correctly scaled model of the vehicle mode. I don’t exactly see a scenario where someone would buy two of these to display at the same time.

This is 100 percent the situation. The current mold is closer to a C8 Corvette with a Galant front, Likan headlights, and genericized sides. Someone could do really well to create a C8 Upgrade Kit that makes this into a new character, something that might be better recieved.

I agree with your stance on Ferrari and don't llike how ferrari is always full of themselves as a company, but they did give us better car as a result: Lamborghini Supercars Exist Because of a 10-Lira Tractor Clutch  

Don't forget they copyrighted their racing red too because it's oh so special...

 

Cool looking robot mode for sure, but it looks like his alt mode is made up of a LOT of backpack and panels.

Incorrect. Regardless of them being repaints, they are also official molds used for this character.

Doesn't matter. They were used for this character and are "official". Hence my use of "new" in my original post.

 

I honestly would of preferred a straight up repaint of the Cliffjumper version cause I prefer that head sculpt but I am glad they at least gave him the masked look which is a decent compromise.

 

Oh man going off topic here but yeah I agree. To think we wouldn't have Lamborghini supercars if Enzo wasn't a dickback to Ferruccio!

 

Do any of you honestly predict they will retool Dino into Sideways? It would be such a heavy retool.
