Thea/Zelina the latest WWE employee to find out that getting over and making money is worse then sexually harassing teenagers, constantly injuring co-workers, spreading dangerous conspiracy theories in the workplace and whatever Lars Sullivan is doing this week.

Was surprised to see that she is still only 30 though, her TNA run seems ages ago now. Plenty of career left ahead of her outside of the snakepit.

WWE has a simple rule. Stay away from the 3rd party sites that promote sexualization. And Onlyfans is synonymous with people selling nsfw stuff on it. Twitter is heading in that direction. So Twitch is still safe for now. Makes sense to keep the female wrestlers away from the questionable ones. If you look at the rules they need to follow not just in WWE, but AEW, IMPACT! and NJPW, it's frowned upon to even get pregnant. You get tats. And otherwise do stuff to your body that alters its visual presentation in what can be construed as negatively.
They aren't even allowed near the creative staff in those companies (save AEW if your contract states that you have creative control (a la Matt Hardy) with the persona you're going under.)

But that support of Unionization might bite her in the butt. She's now "out" on that regards, and companies that don't support unions now know she does and it's a risk to hire her now. Not every job needs a union. Take grocery store baggers. Not sure if you guys still have them or not, but they are extinct by me because they tried to form a union. The stores said "ok. But the position isn't technically needed, so we are eliminating it." So all those baggers (all they did was load your stuff into bags for you) lost their jobs if not moved to a new area in the store. It was legal to do too. It would be the equivalent to say school crossing guards at a high school trying to unionize. They aren't really needed.

(As you guys can tell. I'm partially anti-union. There are some that need it. Like mine workers. Factory workers. And the extremely hard working jobs. Not saying wrestling isn't hard (it is very hard), it's just they don't do the performance 9-10 hours a day for 5 sometimes 6 days a week. At most the typical match lasts at most 5 minutes. And even in that time there are lulls. Little breaks. My guess is to catch their breath. But I might be wrong. Any "heavy lifting" on the part of doing the moves is supposed to be helped by both parties. So you're not even deadlifting their whole weight. Downside is the bumps/impacts they take. Not really good for the body. Look at Mark Calaway's (The Undertaker) career. You can see his body get abused in the 30 years.

And as for Dictatorship in WWE, you have that in every job. It's more hierarchy than democracy because the people on top don't need to ask the serfs how to run the company. They aren't voted in by the people, but advance through forging alliances and stuff. For all people say about AEW, it's that way too. No escaping it.

Well I said that because my emotion got the best of me and wasn't clearing thinking and I bet everybody has that moment once and awhile. But, it still sucks for Zelina Vega.

I know. I feel bad too. She's popular RN. So that'll help. But that tweet or whatever and her having that Onlyfans is gonna hurt her imo with other companies that might not want the risk.

Have you actually been paying attention to this story for the last few months? This isn't anything to do with sexualisation or women, it's entirely about WWE wanting total control over the income and creative output of the talent whilst still claiming that they are independent contractors to get out of treating them like actual employees or professional athletes. The difference in this case is that Thea seems to be the only one that kept arguing and didn't care about getting fired over it, whereas other folks like Styles and Cole caved once Vince made it final.

Your also projecting WWE's horseshit onto the rest of the industry, none of those other promotions force anywhere near the same level of control over their contracted talent and generally don't have a problem with them doing outside work as long as it isn't directly conflicting with actual company interests. The only reason WWE gets away with it as much as they do is because nobody has the money to actually fight them in court over it.

This isn't the case either, wrestling is absolutely brutal on the body and is especially bad when working for companies with heavy touring schedules like WWE and NJPW. Most guys already start wearing down in their 30s and breaking down in their forties, assuming they are lucky enough to avoid things like brain, spinal or serious joint damage. The main reason why so many guys from the 80s and 90s are dead or have serious health issues now is because there was very little regard for health back then and allot of them turned to substance abuse to deal with the working conditions and/or filled themselves with roids to keep getting booked by promoters.

There aren't going to be as many early deaths with current generations because the industry is allot cleaner then it was and the grind will ease up for people in major western promotions because they are mostly abandoning house shows, but guys like Dustin or Suzuki who can still put on great matches past their mid-late 40s are still going to be a rarity.

Your anecdote misplaces the blame. Bagger positions were eliminated because they tried to unionize. You frame that as a mistake on the part of the baggers, when the issue is that our gov is lax enough on corporations to ban companies from outright firing someone for wanting to unionize.... but at the same time.... allowing loopholes for companies to perform the same sort of actions, legally. It's not that you wanted to unionize, it's that we're eliminating your position. Or that you were late once. Companies will harm the workers or customers to defend their way of doing things and prevent workers from seeking better treatment or fair wages/benefits. You blame the hostages instead of the hostage taker. That's insane. It's like a strange sort of Stockholm syndrome.

Yea I was thinking the exact same thing about the girl crush. That dude has a hell of a resume on who he's dated in Hollywood. I guess all power to him.

I had to look him up when this story broke, because I heard the name but couldn't think of a single thing he sang or did lol. Guess that comes with never being a teenage girl.

When will Mia (Reckoning) Yim perform? She did attack Dana Brooks. I am glad McIntyre won the championship.
