Oh. That sounds like mostly comic and barely known fringe type characters. Would the masses really spend $80 on many of those?
I'm sure there are plenty of those lesser known characters, but I believe they'll reserve this price of toy for those with some recognition. Optimus for sure but most of those others would be a shock to get in commander.

 

Sky Lynx isn't a fringe character? He doesn't even have a humanoid bot mode. Hopefully sales on him weren't awful because it was a perfect use of the size class and opens up ideas for less traditional characters.

 

I always find this such an odd response to a speculative list. I mean, if the question was 'which character will beyond any question of a doubt be the next commander class release, then sure. But it's a speculation thread. Where people can indulge in a thought experiment and kick it about.
And you know, as others have pointed out, Sky Lynx. Massive weirdo gets the premium treatment, in a line where an absolute nobody like Doubeldealer gets Leaderclass treatment.
Sometimes I think, as a community, we could unclench a little. I'm happy to buy the amyl.

I'd like to cosign all of the above. I'd also add in Starsaber (a little reluctantly. I want Prime Wars era Leaderclass), Deathsaurus, Thunderclash (possibly using the same sort of layout as the rumoured Commander Rodimus) and Skyquake.
Gutcruncher with Stratosonic Jet and Sprocket with Attack Cruiser for Actionmaster joy.
I'd really love it (so it definitely won't happen) if they made some 'Wrath of Grimlock' era Guardian droids.
I still think that an awesome Commander set would be to have PM:OP and Thunderwing in the same line. Get yer Matrix Quest thrills.
Commander class Depth Charge and Rampage would be great additions to the BW Generations cast.
And finally, ER Starscream and SS:86 Jazz will be rereleased post-Kingdom with Leader class Pretender shells, which in turn go into Commander class Action Master shells. This I guarantee!

 

Don't forget both Thunderclash and Skyquake can be repainted (and maybe get new heads for fun) as MW Optimus Prime and Starscream!
PMOP/Thunderwing would be off the hook.

Honestly, I think (If Hasbro wants to redefine the Titan Class) I think the first Titan of the WFC Era should be this:

This allows for both the Bankable Optimus Prime, niche cult character Thunderwing, and a fun Marvel Comics reference. I feel Thunderwing would look like his pretender shell and combine into a bigger version of his combiner look with the checky IDW reference thrown in for good measure. Power Master Optimus would look like his Marvel depiction with the small cab looking like Ginri from the Anime.

 

Still hoping for a titan class Overlord and Tidalwave one day.

 

You should happy that POTP Deathsaurus wasn't made because from what I've heard he is indescribably awful. The evolution gimmick means that the inner bot turned into a bird even though the larger combined mode would turn into a bird (befoe anyone asks, no, the bird breast isn't present), the lion breast was TR levels of being poorly articulated. And that's just the tip of the iceberg of awful design decisions they decided to do on that guy, and unlike CW Prime where even upgrade kits could redeem that piece of shit mold into something good, Deathsaurus was a legitlimate lost cause.

Star Saber would've been pretty cool since he was the least worst POTP leader class if he was made (barring some weird stuff going on, like the star saber head being inside the saber body) and I would like a Siege Magnus tier rework on the POTP vesion.

 

Whatever the 2022 TF line be Armada themed or not I do hope we'll see some Armada representation of some sort for it's 20th anniversary. I wouldn't want to see the Armada fans get the same treatment as us BW guys did when it comes to having the show you grew up with not being so much as be acknowledged for it's 20th anniversary.

 

I think you'll see a combo overall TF sublines, as since Hasbro suddenly has an interest in celebrating anniversaries, it's both Armada's 20th and Animated's 15th.

 

I am going to advocate for Commanders Broadside and Lugnut and Titans Tidal Wave and Grandus till they're made.

 

The 2022 line having both Armada and Animated inspired TF figures would truly be a wonderful thing to see happen. It would explain why we seem to be getting a new Megatron that happens to be a helicopter this time as well as having a seemingly new G1 Optimus Prime when for all we know it could be actually an Animated inspired Optimus who was in turn inspired by G1.

 

Honestly it would be, Animated + Armada is a dream line. Animated is my favorite show and the Armada designs are awesome.

Helicopter Megs is easily his most underrated altmode.

Agreed. As for Megatron not only will it make Animated fans happy but it'd also make the G1 fans who wanted a more gun inspired alt mode for him can get that with the Animated Megatron since when you think about it his copter mode does evoke a flying gun especially with the fusion cannon on the bottom of the copter tip.

 

I'll take a helicopter Megatron over another ill-defined tank Megatron any day of the week.

Honestly most every time I hear it talked about, people shit on the batmobile as a Megatron alt mode. They loved Prime Vehicons but not Megatron.

 

WHY??? Space batmobile is awesome! I only really hear its praises.

 

Man I wish I was in your circles. I 100% agree and wish I had the Cybertron Megatron mold (it was the only leader I didn't get from the line), but the main arguments against it are the colors and it not looking like Megatron (read: not geewun)
