It's been a while, a real long one, since last I've played with UW Bruticus.
So... Well, let's play with him !

It's a weird case, this one. I don't think much about him, then when I do I only see at first all that is wrong with it, then I rapidly enjoy all that is good about it.
In the end ? Well, it's Bruticus alright.

I need to get my bruticus off the shelf for a play. I keep forgetting the official transformation has his bulky shoulderpads, i always put them down his back to make his back cannons a bit more stand out. Might get mansor out too.

Called the hospital and they say wife is doing welland nothing to worry about. May be able to come home tomorrow. So thats got me feeling better.

I know what you mean with big sets. The two biggest sets I own are Benny's Spaceship! Spaceship! SPACESHIP!!! from the LEGO Movie, and the Samurai X Cave from Ninjago - which I believe is also the biggest Ninjago set, not counting the LEGO 'Ninjago' Movie Abomination* tie in sets, though to be fair the sets from said subline are pretty good even if the movie is pants. Anyway, with both of those I spread out building them over several days doing a few bags each day both because of it being easy to burnout doing it in one sitting and because as relaxing as building LEGO is for some of my medical stuff, it can also get tiring with my other medical stuff.

    * I really do not like that movie. IMO it fails as a LEGO Movie, as a Ninjago Movie and, frankly, as a Movie, and I'm a huge fan of the source material so it being so bad hit me hard... I could have forgiven it not having been faithful to the source material if it had been a good parody of Power Rangers/Super Sentai type shows or a good LEGO movie but sadly not. On the plus side the show did 2 seasons and a TV movie/4 episode season which had the feel of a proper Ninjago movie and the TV movie was even advertised by the creators as the movie fans of the show's canon have been waiting for so they clearly knew how disappointed we were with the so-called Ninjago Movie :lol

Maybe I'm being dense but what makes him a 'Hybrid' exactly?

I'm going to be honest, when I saw Greef there my first thought was "Why did they make a figure of older Billy Dee Williams?" For some reason he makes me think of Billy Dee from a few years ago, like when he was in C&C3 or something?
Of course looking more closely I see it's not him but I thought I'd share this moment of confusion with you lot :thumb

Best wishes to you and your wife and hoping your wife is on the mend soon!

Edit: I managed to completely miss the second part of your reply to my post yesterday so...
Probably not. I've already got a Spider-gwen so I'm not sure that one is really different enough to warrant getting her, though she does have Spider-ham :D  I guess maybe if I saw it cheap somewhere I might take a punt.

It also goes down the never good route of new "celebrity" voice actors... and trying a soft reboot while there are other forms of media available continuing... and, well there are far too many issues to list!

But Kai's Fire Mech and Zane's tank were nice!

For all their flaws, those combacticons and Bruticus are always a pleasure to play with everytime I do. And that's maybe because I don't do it very often. I hate Onslaught mold (although he does look good), Bruti hips are a mess, barely posable, Brawn seems sorry to exist, and while I absolutely adore Swindle robot mode his jeep mode is so so.
And despite all this they're pretty cool. I guess that's the Combacticons appeal ?

Some days I regret to not have bought all the Stunticons back then. It's kind of a too late situation with everything there is now to buy but, yeah, Menasor will be a big hole in my collection. It's mostly because I found him very ugly back then (the CW/UW one). Not really appealing. I did get Motormaster because he's cool and of course Dead End because I just adore him (the CW one is suaaaaave)(and I loved my G1 one as a child) (and of course this:)

    Greatest moment of the franchise.

I know I won't stop until something's finished, so there's some massive boxed sets still sitting about! That and the fucking stickers! Lol

Same boat, plus I own Ham from the Venom wave. I'd imagine the Gwen head sculpt will appear on eBay and likely fit too. I think they'll peg warm between being late, not fitting the usual aesthetic, and whilst big the movie wasn't BIG.

I dunno why they went with the label "Hybrid" but basically he's only wee, 3 3/4" tall in robot mode - a kinda "Tiny MP" aborted toyline.

Ah I remember back when I was young and naive I ordered this as an alternative to MP1.

I was aware it was smaller (and tbh MP1 is a big unit), but was still surprised at how diminutive he is.

I think the biggest issue with mine is blast off. His legs just do not tab together for arm mode. A slight breeze and he goes all general grievous on me. Vortex, while I'm glad he has his four rotors, the extra arenawkward to position in bot mode. Must admit, while not the best alt mode, something about onslaughts wierdly looking gun truck appeals to me. Maybe its the richness of the purple. I do love swindles combat jeep mode though, makes him feel like he can tough it through a battlefield to deliver his goods to sellers. He got sick of getting shot up on supply runs and hit the gym.

The stock menasor looks horrible. Managed to get a good deal on the uw version, and the chest kit for him. Truly amazing how much difference that makes, even if it doesnt really work outside combined mode. They tried, but failed. But if that chest kit didn't exist, I'd have probably gone for the fansproject menasor. That thing looks slick.

    *hugs back*

That’s a competitive price for a PO on Netflix Bumblebee...

Surprised that company is making sales given the horrendous mark ups.
