The scale and vehicles they're using don't help. Tiny ass deluxes with small cars as alt modes in a line beholden to scale is bound to ruin the toys. If they were bigger I think they'd have a better chance at it not sucking

 

Yeah the whole scaling shit they do isn't helping anyone. I mean I look at Offroad and then Landmine from 07 next to each other and it makes Landmine look like a voyager. I know Offroad is a smaller deluxe but even then, the other deluxe SS' I got aren't that much bigger either. I know budget cuts are a thing but how many budget cuts are really needed, especially for a company as big as Hasbro?

 

Yeah, I get what you mean, I'm just not pushed to buy much cause I feel I already have ones I prefer more, like the rotf deluxe ratchet I mentioned, or sidearm sideswipe

Oh, I also forgot to mention that as dotm soundwave was pretty good, just too small

Him and off-road bumblebee are the only ss deluxes I've gotten, although I do plan on getting car mode dropkick

 

Honestly I wonder if there aren't cheaper plastics or other materials to use to offset the costs.

He had a Cyberverse figure and in Takara's AoE line he had a Sideways retool with a new head and blades

 

The Sideways retool in the Movie Advanced line was called Dino, as was the Tiny Turbo Changer. It was the Cyberverse Sideways redeco and a Speed Star toy that used Mirage, as well as the comicbook, novel and videogame adaptation.

 

I\'m so happy that we\'re finally get a official dino figure after 10 long years. A lot of people don\'t like his torso and it is unfortunate, but it doesn’t really bother me all that much. But I think the rest of the figure looks really good and I’m so excited that after so long we’ll be getting an official Dino figure.

 

I'm no Bay fan but that bot mode looks amazingly accurate and the car mode looks damn cool. You might reconsider shitting on it.

 

Im so happy we are finally getting a Dino and I think he looks great in both modes. So they didnt wanna pay Ferarri ? Who gives a flying f**k ? It looks close enough to a Ferrari to me. It does the job. Ive never seen so many petty ass comments about a "not" car mode when Hasbro has been doing this for decades. Where were all these whiners in 2008 when Universe Sideswipe/Sunstreaker came out ? How about RTS Tracks ? I can understand the frustration with Blitzwing's made up jet mode but it was pretty obvious they were going for a Tetra jet alt mode retool and the F-4 Fathom wasnt going to produce that. But I dont see anything wrong with this Dino alt mode. They made it work. The alt mode is fine. We just need better fandom. Whatever they are complaining about Im just not seeing. Toy critics. Smh

 

It looks like they are literally using the same concept as One Step Changer Hot Rod. They literally just stuck a plate over top of a bunch of car Junk! And the car mode just looks screwed up to me! I just don't see it, but than again I don't get most of the Bayverse designs. I guess that's just me. But hey if this is all it takes to make Bayverse fans happy, more power to Hasbro! 

 

It isnt even that Hasbro didnt pay Ferrari, its that Ferrari wouldnt even let them if Hasbro wanted. They're very stringent with their license

I just want to point out that Dino has 27 steps in his transformation, which has got to be one of the most lengthy Deluxe-class transformations in recent memory. 

 

In addition, the reason he was named "Dino" in the movie is due to the toy rights for Ferrari being owned by Mattel at the time. Since Hasbro owned the toy trademark Mirage they didn't want them to share the name. Dino is Mirage just like Que is Wheeljack. If for some reason you want to be upset about that you can be but that's just the way it is.

 

Bumblebee has a cool headsculpt but man that Cliffjumper mold is sorta a dud. Might get Dino but only time and my wallet will tell

 

 All this Bayverse, Bayformers, names and character justification hodge podge is just so funny to me! One day Hasbro will make a Transformers live action movie utilizing original Sunbow designs. Sideswipe will be a red Lamborghini, and have a yellow Lambro named Sunstreaker. And Wheeljack will actually be named Wheeljack. Oh! and Bumblebee will actually TALK!!! That will be the day! 

 

Or the series can change and reinvent and be unique and not be beholden to a poorly made cartoon from nearly 40 years ago. If you want Sunbow, watch G1 again.

 

No, it won't. But they'll sure as hell do that. Heck, the Cybertronian scenes of the Bumblebee movie almost are that.

One day Hasbro is going to do what Disney has already done, and make a faithful to the source material live action adaptation, of the original Transformers G1 Series. I just want it to happen in my lifetime!
