This doesn't look accurate to any version of Cab nor Hosehead and is yet another example of how FansHobby are completely bloody useless at designing figures.
They overcomplicate simple things and don't put enough effort into the complex things.

And before anyone says this isn't meant to be based on the anime and is meant to be more of a Generations-looking design, have a look at all the flat panels and details - they're getting rid of details even the Masterforce anime had.

The design should be much closer to the original toy, just like it is in the anime and multiple different comics. FansHobby are, in my opinion, just lazy and useless at making things look right.

 

It’s called a redesign. Sure, some things are different, like a different looking alt mode, but this still represents the character as a whole. It’s still the same jackass prince boi who cares for his friends deeply.

Not everything can be truly 1/1 with the models of the show, but it’s not about if it’s popping off out of the screen, but to be regzonizable by the audience at first glance and say “hey; that’s cab” or “oh look, Energon Optimus Prime.”

 

i dont have incursus or caelus, so i can only compare to a siege. she definitely feels thinner, but also doesn't feel like she will break in my hands either. she holds any pose i put her in and looks good in both modes. to me figures dont have to weigh 50 pounds and be full of shitty diecast to be nice. for her size, she weighs enough and feels sturdy enough.

 

No I hate diecast. Have a digivolving spirits and personally it ruined it for me. But hearing it has really thin plastic, not sure how I feel about that. The last time I had something with thin plastic I really despised it. Well then here's hoping the next two use better plastic. Thanks for the description.

 

I can't find a lot of screenshots of the robot mode, and even fewer that don't cut off the lower legs, but what I did find looked (simplified) toy accurate to me so it is just liberties.

This is VERY early, and while Nightbeat is reportedly getting new parts it is still a largely complete figure. I fully expect Nightbeat will actually release first.

The flatness is due to the stage of production. They used simple 3D printed parts to test the transformation with physical parts and take early pictures. They have done this with at least a couple other recent figures starting with God Bomber (that I remember off the top of my head). The final version won't be like that. They could not announce so early, but it is how they chose to do things. I don't have anything on the rest of your post.

 

I'm excited to get this. I totally understand a retool/rework/redesign was how they made the bots scale. I like the stubby alt mode alot!

Wonder if there is room/transformation joints to pull the alt mode out longer and reduce the chibification of the fire truck.

 

I put a deposit down on show.z. I wish they revealed more about Go-Shooter before revealing this one.

Thats kind of a shame. I really liked the dumpy sd firetruck mode better. Looked kind of cute. But im sure it makes other people happier that its a realistic truck mode

 

I'm fine with it, still can fit the bill as a cute tiny fire truck. Real question is if bot mode got considerably changed or not.

 

Indeed. From what I can tell, they just added an extra bit at the back, the ladder remolded, and the frontlights from what I can tell. As well as the peices near the wheels. So I guess that extra back peice will just be kibble is my guess, with the other peices just retooled to give more truck like features

 

They might do it later but this company would be the one to do Dai Atlas, Sonic Bomber, Roadfire, Sky Garry, Grandus, and Rocket Base/Countdown because they like playsets. Hell, even Galaxy Shuttle and Sky Lynx. I still think FT does Sky Lynx but if FH put one out now that matched the toon aesthetic at scale it would be probably ward off competition.

 

Oh yeah, absolutely. If they do a deathsaurus I bet you kfc will have some serious competition.
