Interesting that this thread just got bumped because I was literally talking to a new employee at work about Andromeda yesterday.
I told him that I didn't think most people got the main issue with Andromeda.
To me it wasn't the various graphic glitches (that I wonder if every YouTuber really encountered because they all had the same camera angles and used the default female Ryder).

To me it was that I was sold that I was going to be The Pathfinder.
That I was going to forge a new path for civilization in uncharted and hostile regions of the universe.

And then I awoke from cryo-sleep and the game immediately took all the stakes away.
There I was in what was essentially The Citadel in the first series; it already had hundreds of residents.
It had shops, restaurants and even a museum.

Then it sent me on missions where all I did was walk in someone else's footsteps and turn on someone else's technology.
In the first game Shepard literally saved everyone and still was largely untrusted until the middle of the second game.

In Andromeda I went to some place that was clearly enumerated on the map and turned some switches that were already there and everyone was praising me as The Pathfinder within a few hours.

I agree. It was a fantastic ride and then it went off a cliff.

Well they said "veterans" after Polygon went and confirmed this with what happned with Andromeda.

That doesn't give me much reassurance... they didn't even say which BioWare is making it.

 

It would be strange and belabored...but I'd love to see a Mass Effect where there are three intertwining games out at the same time in which each features a different race. You can have a human, Turian and Geth games that follow a similar story and meet up at certain "hard points", but the rest of the story is completely told from the viewpoints of the racial class, ships, companions and all.

 

Nah I'm good. I doubt anything of value will come of them trying to revive this franchise a second / third time.

 

If they make the same mistakes like the ones made in Andromeda, then they’re fucked.

I’m sure they have a game made by better developers to blame ready.

I have some doubts about it but I couldn't be more happy to see a continuation.

She just picked up an N7 emblem and there are 3 interesting characters in the background. One a salarian, one a drell, and the last appears to be either a krogan or a turian. This looks really promising as they've promised that the dev team involves most from the original trilogy, mainly Dusty Everman, Perrish Ley, Derrek Watts, and Brenon Holmes.
