In tlk there was a scene where there was a submarine fight and in that action scene if you look closely at one of the submarines spinning you can see rotf megatron for a split second.

I'm surprised that i caught that, btw i can't find any image of it

Not surprising. Bay reuses footage all the time.

:lolol  :lolol  wait, seriously? That's pretty funny.

Reused footage isn't a new thing for the movies but still.

Somehow bay dose make reused scenes look good, but tlk scene was lazy because it was just the split second clip of rotf megatron about to burst out of water, the funny thing about that scene is they didn't even try to cgi a submarine so it was just a split second of rotf

That's actually hilarious that they kept ROTF Megs in there. If the existing evidence wasn't enough, they really could not give a shit about this film.

People noticed this when the film came out, but it's no less embarrassing. :lol

Reusing raw footage with new effects is one thing, reusing completed shots with CGI characters still in them is another entirely.

As if TLK wasn't enough of a shitshow.

That's what I'm stuck on, like, this creates a paradox where the original Megatron randomly appears for a second. :lolol  :lolol  :lolol

I can see that Michael Bay has that "work smart, not hard" mindset which I why I see him as a lazy, brilliant and efficient filmmaker. I don't think his reusing footage from older films as long as it makes sense with the action of the scene, that's good editing.

Is this sarcasm? Because it definitely does not make sense to have ROTF Megs appear in TLK.

    That's Bay for you.

Sometimes you notice it like when the bomb shot from Pearl Harbour is recycled into the bomb shot in 13 Hours; it's whatever.

Or when the naval ships in the first movie are recycled also from Pearl Harbour.

And then there's ROTF Megatron being in TLK only he's not edited out of the shot.

No, it's bad editing, because ROTF Megatron is clearly visible in the scene.

Also these movies have budgets of millions of dollars and they couldn't scrap together two seconds of a submarine explosion for their multi-billion dollar franchise?

As an editor you're supposed to match action with the previous scene. In the context of the scene it's a submarine that's being hit, so it works.

No, it doesn't, because you can still see Megatron. In context that shot doesn't work, because there's an element present that should not be there.

If we're being honest, Megatron being there doesn't make any less sense than the rest of the movie.

Still not as bad as fact Bay couldn't make up his mind on which of the 9 aspect ratios he should stick to.

If the said reuse shot was something like one of the explosion on land like one of the Egypt scenes in ROTF I would agree it was a mistake. However, because the reuse scene includes an underwater shot of a Submarine getting hit, it is not a mistake. I hope I'm articulating my point correctly.

What I mean by mistake is they left rotf megatron in the shot instead of editing him out because they didnt care, I guess I shouldve elaborated.
