Yeah.... I pre-ordered this at EBgames' online store. This time I used the home delivery option instead of store-pickup. First time I pre-ordered (Siege's Ratchet exclusive) with EBgames using the in-store pickup option, I got no notifications by phone/email after waiting a month past the expected street date. So I went into the store wanting to ask about the arrival but I spotted the one and only unit of Siege Ratchet on the store's shelf. So I picked it up. I could've missed it and not be available again for weeks. This exclusive is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced. It's the same price as Ectotron! But I guess they saw the situation in the States/Hasbro Pulse and decided they can price it at maximum markup. But so glad EBgames can rot with their Maverick exclusive. I'm still waiting for Earthrise Thrust to show up on its website but I can get my first ever Conehead trio.
Like I said, EBGames Canada figured Canadians buying Gigawatt at Hasbro Pulse will be paying even MORE than the huge markup they got (Deluxes are $30 here, Gigawatt is double that, it's the same price Ectotron, a large VOYAGER), so they took advantage of it.
Yup. I'm convinced that the price was a mistake in their system. Amazon had the same issue but Amazon fixed the glitch and EB did not. FYI for any Canadians, I'm getting $52.10 CAD shipped (with zero import fees for some reason) from Amazon.com. I already have mine from EBGames but if I were buying now I would use this: https://www.amazon.com/Transformers...s=Gigawatt+transformers&qid=1605212036&sr=8-1
I wish that at least one of these new, crossover TFs was a Decepticon. Damn Hasbro and their ongoing Autobot favoritism.
They were incorrect in their assumption. I was looking forward to this figure but EB has priced themselves out of a purchase from me. There’s no way I can justify $60 CAD (+12% tax) for a Deluxe. I guess I just won’t have a transforming time machine in my collection.
I hear ya. I actually was struggling with buying the Playmobil BOTF Delorean set instead of Gigawatt but if bought it will stick out like a sore thumb in my collection. So I will opted for Gigawatt and find a way to save $25CAD somewhere else. Gigawatt sits very comfortably next to my Ectotron in my crossovers/novelty TF shelf just fine.
That's be another dream come true, likely wishful thinking though. The studio/company that own rights to Knight Rider won't let KITT be a Decepticon, and Hasbro might not see enough market to push for a KARR repaint. Doing a Deluxe KITT Transformer's a cakewalk for Hasbro to design. However, the KR franchise is really dated with little chance for a reboot. And KITT itself is almost distinguishable from a regular 80's sports car except the interior. It's not that exciting a toy BTH unless Hasbro goes all out and do a Human Alliance scale with accurate interior. That'll likely bring it to MPM $100+ price point though. Hasbro is smarter putting effort doing TF crossovers with M.A.S.K. instead IMO.
