Anyone else getting a vague G1 Rumbler vibe from whom I’m assuming is Overair here? I know the colors aren’t 100% spot on (trade the green for the gray) but it’s the overall deco that I feel like is oddly trying homage this guy.

Definitely a contender for the award for most colorful figure of the year. I really love the look of this figure more so than Airwave.

He can transform into the same modes as Airwave can, but we’ve seen enough of that for now. I was inspired by a post from @barry where he did a side-by-side of the G1 toy compared to a fan mode of this figure done in a very close callback to the G1 figure. @barry did such a great job, I wanted to try it, but with a couple different flourishes of my own.

And of course the runway can be extended out from this mode to attach your rampmasters or the Shockwave labs upgrade ramps (which I totally intend to get soon). I really love the versatility and playability of these Modulators.

 

everytime I look at this thread Im reminded of just how good this line is and how much Ive enjoyed it!

Im all caught up finally thru wave 3 myself, just waiting on some of the generations selects and amazon GO figures but damn, ER has been a great ride  

 

I think that this guy is my favorite of all of the Modulators...

 

Each time I look at this thread I'm reminded that besides Wave 1 all the rest of mine are stuck in preorders still  

 

Man, I held out on this guy for a very long time.. no review or picture could convince me to get him. But when he was 39% off I could not resist any longer and boy oh boy. He looks magnificent in hand and poses so incredibly naturally

If you can still find him at a cheap price and don't care about Astrotrain much.. go get him

I like the way his booster looks on UM's gun...that might need to happen

 

What do you find so average about him? Proportions? The fact that he shares some engineering with WJ? The toon colorscheme?

 

I've searched high and low, can anyone please respost the photo of Earthrise Ironhide using his weapons sled with the treads from Brunt, or whatever the silver one of him is called.

He doesn't share any engineering with Wheeljack. He's just incredibly straight forward with his transformation, there's not really any cool tricks to it like there are with a lot of the Earthrise figures and his solid white colors just look so generic. He might be better if he was more toy colored just to add some visual pop to him

 

There are a few different configurations people have come up with. Here's mine (note that it requires using Datsun shoulder guns to attach the rear treads)



EDIT: just realized the second photo has Ironhide's gun at the back instead of the front - sorry if that's confusing.

That one is super more intricate than what I had in mind. The one I saw simply had the treads plugged in, and was elevated a bit.

Nice job though.

 

Ah though I read that somewhere (didn't bother to analyze it myself). I was really looking forward to this initally (based on the photos we saw in the last big show) but the later non hand-painted pictures didn't impress me as much. Might be the white, so some orange could have helped there. I was still kinda on the fence, but if it's an uneventfull transformation on top of the gripes, then what's the point? I better put that money towards expending my Fasttrack army (who actually also doesn't seem to be getting the most glowing reviews...hmm  ).
