Agreed. The fact that the term "echo chamber" can apply to either side of the argument really takes the impact out of the use. "Oh those silly haters... they just can't appreciate it for what it is." One side reads negativity simply because they don't like something and don't understand why someone can't like something they like. The other side reads the drool soaked praise of blithe sycophants. All of it echoed over and over... and over. At the end of it, it's all over the trivial mannerisms of toy collecting.
I'd buy third party Rock Lords... or even Transformer homages to Rock Lords characters. Magmar as a flametank... Bouldar as... ... something. Nugget a Bumblebee retooling.
Well, gotta hand it to ya, you're not wrong. I'd be down for this. MP Arcee looks good to me, though. Possibly the least of the post Hot Rod MPs, but looks like a better figure to me than most of the pre-MP-28 releases. Great articulation, looks like the character (moreso than any other Arcee we've had to date), best alt mode of any previous Arcee, extensive paint, fun gimmicks/accessories. Can't wait.
Both sides can give their opinion, if they like it or not. It's all about being civil when you do it. If you don't like what the other says, no need to gang up from being either side. PLEASE be peaceful about, regardless of which side you are on. Allow either side to give their input and ignore if you don't agree without needing to say you will ignore. Thank you
This. While i'm personally still going for MP-51 just due to some of the looks on this really tickling my fancy (yes, the chest is a bit of a problem, but from what i've seen in ancillary media, it actually seems to be a bit more accurate than just these images would make you believe, and with the backpack, Arcee always hasn't been the easiest to engineer), i'm not gonna go bash someone who chose Rouge or Azalea nor whine when someone does so. Just to flesh out my position real quick, MP-51 ended up being the most center-field of a pendulum swing between her, Rouge and Azalea. Rouge looked too realistic to me, with some of those faces definitely not helping her case, and Azalea looking a bit too cartoony. The main focus there being on the faces, which I kinda end up being a bit of a stickler on if it looks off by at least a certain degree. Subtle stylization being an exception of course, that's always fair game. I think i'm gonna end up regurgitating my position if I already haven't started to already, so i'll just throw up this from the days of yore, haha.
Honestly, I think mp-51 looks the part in only some angles, but sheesh that back kibble makes me that Takara is only designing it for aesthetic purposes instead of under-engineering the back as a whole. The face sculpt looks nice, but idk, I just think that mp-51 looks better with mp-28 instead of any other figure. Mp-51 looks awkward to me for some reason, anyone else think the same?
I love it and can’t wait to get mine. There’s just something about a new Takara MP, they really feel like events to me. Especially such an iconic character like Arcee. For her to finally be recognized in the Masterpiece toyline just feels like a big deal to me, and I can’t help but get excited. And she looks pretty stable in these pics too, good sign!
Arcee looks as bad in the new promos as she always has, if not worse. She looks like she's about to start her first day at school.
Azalea is a good substitution, but Ocular Max/MMC seems to have some QC issues. The two I\'ve got have some QC issue. May be I\'m unlucky. Nicee, though can\'t be said it\'s Arcee anymore since it doesn\'t come with Arcee head, is a solid figure. Great quality. The MP-51 does have its own appeal though it\'s far from perfect. I might just get one for completing the Masterpiece.
LOL I noticed that most of us say both, because we like to pretend the toy World version just never happened
As far as actually looking like the movie character in both mode, fans toys Rouge seems to be the best version overall. The official has a slightly better vehicle mode but a drastically worse looking robot mode. MMC Azalea is the best actual action figure out of the three and strikes a good balance in robot mode appearing that I think her vehicle mode is a little bit too off model
This Arcee isn't perfect, but it's better looking and more cartoon accurate than any of the 3P offerings. The paint, articulation and accessories, it's a nice package and a welcome addition to my collection.
It’s not a good looking figure at all. That backpack is horrendous, the face isn’t even nearly accurate and the chest looks extremely awkward. But it is still an MP Arcee and I’ve wanted an MP version of her for a long time. In all likelihood I’ll probably pick her up eventually, but each new pic of her doesn’t do her any favours.
I'm getting her too, just because. That said, the face has bugged me a lot. The narrow nose and knobbly chin doesn't match what I recall Arcee looking like in the movie, which to my mind was this: MP Arcee's face, straight on, is very triangular and narrow. It doesn't give the soft image I remember as a kid: The narrow kinda knobbly chin, thin nose, high lip and eye placement, coupled with the large old school anime eye style reminds me of two things:
Although I don't like the look of her, I hope that she doesn't have major QC issues like some other MP's had for the people who do like the look of her. Last thing people who are getting this figure wants is another Hound, or something like MP-44's knees (although something like this happening I doubt).
I don't think they were going for Arcee from the movie anyway, more JPG1 look is where I'm guessing they're going to go for the TFTM bots. Less sunbow more anime-ish. Double down on that TFTM is the year 2005, they revealed her under Transformers 2010 which probably explains why they felt no need to exactly match the movie animation. JPG1 is theirs alone, they probably feel free to do whatever they want, even retro designing a figure.
