Mine showed up from ShowZ a few days ago. Took about 21 days in total for shipping (with the free s&h option.) He's not perfect, but Hoist was never perfect and I think he's glorious:

    I deem him the most-est best-est Hoist-est:

    chonky-butt-1.JPG

But it's not all rainbows and sunshine, there were some leftover pieces after transforming him...mostly super minuscule paint or plastic chips, probably from the factory. I checked all his parts out and couldn't find where they came from, nothing egregious or unexpected:

The biggest issue was the tire alignment. Someone created their own hole for one of the right tire hinge screws during assembly. When I had both screws out, I was able to push the hinge in firmly against the mini mounting posts and the screw went into the proper hole without much issue.

    Much better:

He's awesome and was sorely needed and now appreciated in my collection.

Or in the States? I don't care for the white accents, but silver is good.

EDIT: Actually, I remembered that my MMC Artifex was a gift from my family a couple of years ago. Replacing it might hurt their feelings, so I'm just going to hold on to it instead of seeking a Paean. While Artifex doesn't look as much like the original toy or the toon character as does Paean, I actually prefer his proportions and face sculpt.

Before I box the silver version up for his new home I got a few comparisons:

    PicsArt_11-11-08.06.40.jpg

And a few of the toon version on the shelf with his toon brethren:

    Just 5 Protectobots to go.....

Incidently I had a few flakes of white paint on my fingers after transformation but it's not immediately obvious where they came from.

Nice images! It's a good figure, I just can't get beyond the weird way the feet are painted. I know they were (often, not always) colored that way in the cartoon, but it looked like an animation error then, and it looks like a production error now. I much prefer the paint applications on v1.

Speaking of differences: other than paint, what else has changed between v1 and v2? The hands, obviously, and the joint at the base of the windscreen looks different. Did XTB correct any weaknesses?

I can see how ppl would prefer the silver, he's an excellent figure. It looks like the armature for his back scanner is marginally longer on the white one and the green appears to be slightly darker on the silver one but that might be my aging eyes in low light lol

Besides that the joints on my silver version are good anyway so there's not much difference in that respect.

I think Superion has an issue with the brightness of your lighting. Kindly adjust :D

Silver wins, hands down. V2 looks unfinished.

Heard the orange parts are now painted, but a step back for screwing up the accessories.

Finally, somebody put of pics of both! THANK YOU!
Is the green actually metallic on the Toon version, or still just plain green plastic?

Has anyone else noticed that you can't use some of the accessories with the toon Peaen because XTB changed the hands? They no longer have the holes on the inside to peg in the double blaster or adapter for Ratchet's tool. Looks like i am keeping my V1 and sending the toon version back.

It's all green paint with a slight metal flake. The hands aren't painted nor are, unfortunately, the inside of the door/arm panels. But all the rest of the green is very nicely painted.

Question about the toon-colored version of Paean:

I'm trying to play around with the accessories. Some of them (like the double-barrel gun) is supposed to be able to peg into a hole on the back of the hand mechanism when the hand is rotated away. However... there's no hole!

Am I crazy? Missing something obvious? Or did they for some reason remove the hole for the toon version?

Looks like XTB screwed up. Sending mine back and keeping my V1 because of this.

Oh man my feelings on this are complicated!
On one hand, I like me some metallic paint... but I'm not pleased to hear that the accessories don't work...
I have V1, and I like him. I'm partial to the construction stripe a lot. Guess I'll just keep him.

A daft mistake, certainly, but personally I'll take the improved fingers and shoulder articulation over accessory plug holes any day of the week. The V2 is a far more pleasant experience in hand.
