It's not a fun transformation honestly. I've got wheeldblade t's kind of tedious since there's some parts that don't have clearance and you have to force it through. It doesn't look too good in robot mode either in hand.

 

So, how common is this? Happened immediately upon opening and attempting my first transformation, it just peeled off instead of rotating. I’m really bummed out, I had to miss her the first time around and I ordered her through Chosen Prime, who I’ve never been able to successfully get replacement parts through. Now, I have to pay for shipping just to return her. What a disappointment.

 

I was actually looking forward to get Athena this weekend, however decided to entirely skip it over for now.
Maybe a few months down the road, I'll pick up a copy.

 

Damn....What Happened to FansHobby? Never thought Id see bad QC from them....

 

It's hard to say honestly.

Transformation is not fun, plastic quality has been lackluster (not compared to the other previous releases), loose and other notable issues.

It seems that the retooled version of Athena for TF Con Exclusive (Windblade) is slightly better from what I've been reading so far.

 

Seems sad and odd. Their overlord was ace.

 

It’s a bummer... Athena was the only Fanshobby figure in which I had any interest, and is the only one of theirs I decided to purchase. And it seems like she’s the weakest. Definitely a bad first impression for the company, for me.

 

@WhiteMocha - The funny thing is that I passed over Double Evil the first time as I had Carnifex and the Upgrade set as I didn't like Fans Hobby version when it first came out and wanted to get Athena instead to see how Fans Hobby take on the Headmaster Jr's.

Now that the second run if Athena has issues as noted here, hopefully that Siren will not have the same issues.

I'll wait till January is see if there are anymore availble copies of Double Evil floating around as I missed the second run pre-orders.

Wasn't there already issues with their RiD Scourge with shoulders breaking? I recall several posts about it with either Scourge or the G2 Optimus.

Also, I had the G2 Prime and the slot for the weapons in one hand was warped to the level that he couldn't hold his weapons.

 

First time I hear of these (dont dispute them, really first time I heard them).

 

still dont get all the hate for this figure. it isn't hard to transform, feels fine to me plastic-wise, and looks like minerva in both modes. could the plastic be thicker? sure, but it doesn't feel as fragile to me as people let on. definitely not as solid as their god ginrai or overlord, but by no means feels cheap. i think people expected a heavyweight figure and are disappointed. it isn't a hulking behemoth like some of their other toys, why does it need to be super chonky? mine transforms fine and hasn't broken at all.

 

That's exactly what I had to do.

The legs (going back to alt mode) can be difficult, but the rest isn't too bad. It may take a few transformations to get used to it. Remember to make sure the roof part is clipped all the way down. Car to bot isn't bad at all.

 

I got mine last night, I ordred about two weeks ago from Fans Hobby's own website. It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be. (I don't have many carbots)

 

So what is the consensus on this figure? Is it worth $62 right now on e-Bay, or will I find a lot of folks in the trade section trying to unload her for $40 this Christmas? There is someone trying to sell for $75 on the B/S/T thread now. I love some 3rd party carbots, but is this one worth at $62 + tax right now?
The negative reaction makes me think prices on this one will go lower if I wait.

 

Minerva also discovered with some Cybertronians, regular hugs are also very awkward.

IMO, wait for a bargain.

 

Had this figure for months now. Shoved it in the closet after one of the flaps broke off (folds along the butt in robot mode). Decided to mess with it today. Ended up replacing the headmaster's legs with ones from the Dark God Bomber. They work well now. I wish Fans Hobby could have put in a telescoping rotating rod where the roof connects to the body. Having a hard time getting past the partsforming, if it could at least be used as a shield I would be fine with it. (I am aware this has already been talked about, blah blah blah).
