This review will focus on differences with the base molds and show various pictures.

Voyager figure classified as Leader class by accessories only...and he comes with a lot of them.
"I need to carry more stuff!"
    np01.jpg

This set is a redeco and strange combination of Siege Optimus Prime base mold with the Earthrise Optimus Prime trailer base mold. The set indeed creates its own styles clash. There were also additional changes made compared to the Takara Nemesis Prime, which actually improved some areas, but created a new major deco snafu in bot mode...which is what most people, including myself, will complain heavily about.

    Bot Mode:

This is the front view. Netflix NP is actually dark gray rather than black. When placed next to actual black plastic, the difference is more apparent. There were some sprue deco changes relative to prior versions of the mold, several for the better, but some for the worse. In this view, the neck plate and hips are changed to dark gray. The biceps are changed to light gray. The crotch actually has all 6 raised areas painted. There is now silver detailing around the windows. The major problem is...
    np02.jpg

The back half of the torso...it's all light gray. It's such an eyesore and much worse in person. This is just inexcusable. Hasbro could have at least painted the top surface dark gray, but they couldn't even do that. One of the worst blunders I've seen in some time. Should have just left the sprue decos alone from the Takara version. It's a shame because this easily overshadows some deco improvements that were made.

Also shown are the dark gray hips and how the waist is now interrupted with part of it being dark gray instead of uniformly gray on the other molds.
    np17.jpg

From the rear view, the backpack hinge was also changed to light gray. There is an improvement on the calves, which are changed to dark gray.
    np03.jpg

Comparison shot: Netflix NP, Takara NP, and Siege OP. Netflix NP's dark gray color is much more noticeable when placed against actual black plastic. The light gray on Netflix NP is a little darker than Takara NP's gray.
    np04.jpg

Comparison shot: This is from the back with the backpack lifted up to show the sprue color changes.
    np05.jpg

    Alt mode:

The light gray back is thankfully not as prominent when transformed, but it's still there. Overall, alt mode is quite solid looking. Unlike bot mode, there is no teal in alt mode.
    np11.jpg

Rear view of alt mode: The light gray back, backpack hinge, and biceps break up the uniform color of the cab.
    np12.jpg

Comparison shot of alt mode: Netflix NP, Takara NP, and Siege OP. Again, no teal is seen on Netflix NP.
    np13.jpg

Comparison rear view shot of alt mode: Again, the light gray on Netflix NP breaks up the uniform color on the back.
    np14.jpg

    Trailer:

It's the Earthrise OP trailer mold. The inner trailer deco could go along with the Siege mold. The outer deco...not so much. The plastics on the trailer are both different than the main bot: black (not quite as deep as the Takara black plastic, though) and a dark silvery plastic.
    np08.jpg

Trailers comparison: Netflix, Alternate Universe, and Earthrise (with 3rd party add-ons).
    np09.jpg

Alt mode with trailer: Again, there is a styles clash between the Siege and Earthrise styles. The wheels do not match. There is limited trailer rotation as with the other Siege molds. Unlike the cab, the trailer shows off plenty of teal.
    np06.jpg

Unlike the POTP toy, there are no ports on the trailer for the side cannons. One way around this is to flip down the blast effect side panels on the cab, which then allows the ports to protrude out enough to plug in the cannons.
    np07.jpg

Extra picture of Takara Nemesis Prime with the Netflix trailer: The trailer better matches the Takara toy. Wheels, however, still do not match.
    np10.jpg

    Accessories:

Lots of accessories here (most from POTP NP) and the set's saving grace: Dark Saber sword (red and gray sword), 2 side cannons, 3 energon cubes, Fangtron (Slitherfang redeco), Slitherfang-type blast effect redeco, and Giza (bird sword). The gray here is noticeably lighter than the POTP versions, so there should be no confusion if you own the original set. None of the POTP accessories are able to plug into the trailer.

Edit: The Netflix side cannons fit more snug and tightly compared to the POTP side cannons.

Not shown in this picture: Ion Blaster (in 1st picture), which is made of the same dark gray plastic as the main bot and not black like the other versions.
    np15.jpg

Fangtron and Giza transformed. Fangtron admittedly looks better in person compared to the renders but still would have preferred transparent plastic. The eyes are not painted on this version of Giza.
    np16.jpg
    Overall:
The set is a mixed bag. The main positive is all the various accessories, and the only reason I would even consider a purchase recommendation.

The main negative is the deco changes to the sprues resulting in the awful eyesore of the light gray back torso. This unfortunately drowns out the various deco improvements. It's that bad and glaring in person. There's also the styles clash by mixing Siege and Earthrise parts together. Oddly enough, the trailer better match Takara Nemesis Prime. [Of course, didn't even mention how awful the black play-doh-like stuff is...]

If you already have Takara NP, do you still need this set? If you want a matching trailer, then yes.

Is this a replacement for Takara NP, NO.

If you are not a fan of Siege OP, then do not buy. This won't change your mind.

If you are a fan of Nemesis Prime and want to get a lot of accessories (this is basically a weapons pack), then yes.

Honestly the only thing I really want out of the set is the cobra. I feel that Blaster needs a red cobra to add to his little Beastie collection.

Excellent quick overview in general, glad I was able to get a preorder in. When you say the back looks worse in-hand, would you say it's enough to make the figure not-recommended for people that were initially on the fence in regards to that production decision?

Strangely enough, of all accessories, I'm really looking forward to adding the trailer's doorshield onto Fangtron.

The double-barreled cannons on the side of the cab could be turned vertical for some hilariously oversized smokestacks.

If they were on the fence about it just for that reason alone and don't plan on painting it over, then it may be enough to not recommend it. It's such a jarring deco snafu that it's hard to ignore in real life. ER OP's inner gray legs are much better in comparison.

I don't understand Hasbro's aversion to making their black redecos actually black. It's always a dark gray, or dark brown, or dark green and it drives me up a wall.

Those side cannons are eyesores with this set, man. I mean...they couldn't have scaled them down even a little bit? LOL.

How much are you willing to bet Toyhax makes a 90's style Optimus Prime sticker set for that trailer? Maybe even make the oversized missile launchers too?

I'll be honest I'm very interested in this set, even with the blunder in the torso. All I can think about now is adding that trailer to ER Optimus for some real 90's nostalgia!

I'd love to get this set, but with finances the way they are now, I can't easily swing it, so I've held off. Frankly it feels like there's too much stuff coming out right now and in the near future.

How well do the grey cannons stay attached in robot mode?

They stay on well, actually, unlike the original POTP cannons. The pegs were (re)done proper for Netflix NP.

I did find out that the side peg on the Dark Saber is loose in the ports, though.

That’s very reassuring for the cannons, thanks

As someone who never got the PotP Nemesis, I'm excited by all the accessories. The red sword honestly is more proportional here than with the leader, even if the cannons are hilariously large. The Takara deco's definitely better, but I can live with this. Would you mind taking a pic of Netflix Optimus pulling the trailer? I wanna see how it would work as the G2 trailer (with stickers of course).

I'll have to see this set in person, but the new grey for the cannons and accessories look really plain compared to the PotP plastics.

I've had him for a while now and I really dig him. I'm excited to see what Nonnef does since the existing upgrade set isn't compatible due to the location of the Siege OP trailer hitch, the swing arms can't close all the way because the legs are in the way.

I really like this figure along with most of the accessories including the oversized guns. The only accessory I have no use for is the cobra the transforms into a countertop. WTF?

The paint applications could have been a little cleaner on my copy and I would have preferred more teal in robot mode but the translucent red plastic makes for a menacing truck.

I will disagree with the OP. The lighter gray plastic that makes up his back is barely noticeable and does not distract from the look of this evil looking Prime.

Its only visible when looking down on the figure. So yeah, barely noticeable (to me)

Your own photos illustrate this quite well.

The trailer doesn't have ports to mount cannons. Anyhow, here's Netflix OP with NP trailer.
