The colours still look off too me. That purple is way too dark/deep and make him look very 'Barney'.

 

Does Kingdom have some of the coolest looking figures I've seen in ages?

Well, it's purple, just too dark for my liking. his chest should be a bit lighter. Another thing that has always bothered me is that the green on the thighs are a darker purple (which I assume means it was paint, and in that case, why not use the proper light green that is already used on the dino mode?).

I mean, I'm still getting it, and I'm still very, very excited. It's just slightly off from perfection when it didn't have to be in this case, since it's just the deco I find a bit of fault with.

 

Can't depend too much on images uploaded. Take for example the blue of the original Ultra Magnus etc. When inhand, the color changes on some hues. Though it is a distinct improvement from the previous takara sample images.

 

Guys, if they make a pink Megatron i could even accept it. I just hope they will not make another damn pink dinobot...rebember the original one? It was my favorite toy as a kid, but i always felt embarassed for him.

 

What? Is this a joke I am not comprehending? The toy was a pale, lilac-ish purple.

 

I meant the original dinobot, sorry. He was pink. With brown stripes. Like a kid born with a tail who went playing in a sewer. I felt sad for him even if i loved him.

 

I don’t remember any dinobot being pink, any pictures?

 

I don’t know why , But the figure feels a bit strange to me

 

Mine was even pinker than these two. Too bad i lost it when i moved to my new home

 

I mean, it's definitely pink as far as skin tones go, but it's not really pink as in the standard colour. Certainly not a colour to be embarrassed over.

Ok, but he is supposed to be a velociraptor...
Ok, real raptors had feathers so probably their skin under all that fluffy stuff was pale and yellowish or light pink, but they were also the size of a beagle.
Dinobot is bigger than Primal, and Primal is as tall as Megatron in beast mode so probably Dinobot's beast mode is bigger than a utahraptor, also supposed to have feathers.

So, as if he's not 100% accurate, there is no logic reason to make him look like a plucked chicken  
He's still a predator. It's not functional for a predator to be easily spotted nor to be sensitive to sunlight, two things that he would definitely be in the wild with a pale pink skin.

That's why i always felt embarassed for him.

But i hope they will fix this issue with the new version, i wouldn't hate a color scheme that matches the henkei or the 10th anniversary versions, but an accurate one (with feathers at least on his head, back, forearms and tail) would be even better 

Meanwhile, i'll just keep dreaming the moment i'll start repainting megs. That t-rex mode is acceptable, just because a purple skin is more functional for a predator than a pink one, but still looks a little bit silly.

 

It is safe to say this Kingdom line is going to cost me a fortune  

 

There’s so much convoluted thought here when all it comes down do is that the brown and pinkish scales just look nice. No need to bring up real world accuracy or character scale. (whatever that has to do with it)

Whatever colours suit predators having nothing to do with these characters.

 

I know, they're advanced robots from another planet, but that's exactly the reason why i expect some accuracy. Not just from Hasbro or takara, but also from the cybertronians themselves.

Once you reach another world and you choose to disguise as a creature of that world, you surely are smart (and skilled) more than enough to properly replicate that creature.
So, you would probably not turn into Barney the dinosaur instead than a real t-rex (unless you're an evil a**hole that simply doesn't care), and for sure you will NOT turn into dinosaur Michael Jackson 

 

At least It's a lot more affordable than collecting Beast Wars MPs. I pre-ordered Rattrap, Cheetor, Blackarachnia, Optimus Primal, Megatron and it was still cheaper than buying something like MP Lio Convoy lol. Also that Optimus Primal does almost everything the MP does while only costing 30 dollars.
