I regularly preorder Nendoroid figures that takes more than that to release and arrive to me.
Sometimes I'm surprised the seller PM's me and says "hey the thing you ordered is here" and I remember "oh yeah I bought that haha"

 

Yeah these days it's always a gamble which retailer will get it first, and this isn't a figure I'm absolutely dying to get so I think I'm gonna hold off for now. I remember when I used to collect anime stuff since in Japan things are shown off in the prototype phase and it can be years before they release and in that time the hype usually dies down significantly for me.
