Fair reasons that I don't need to accentuate why we haven't seen any customs from him, ha.

Meant to say "When the reissue comes out", of course. I wouldn't want that Junkion to actually BE a pile of junk.

    How sweet the irony...

I would absolutely love if Takara made figures of @chchchch ’s digibashs instead of doing nothing. There is so much potential for easy repaints in the masterpiece line and Takara does nothing. G1/Diaclone repaints are the lowest of hanging fruits that would sell.

Haha of course...that's why was careful to only mention "the sculpt" :lol

Thank you Destructimus, that means a lot!! I feel the same way, I don't fully get it. I know Takara wants to seem more high end now, but the G1 toy and Diaclone repaints are classy things and I would think fairly in demand, to the point where a significant number of fans would rather own them than the hyper cartoon aesthetic, I think. Doesn't make much sense to me that they don't aren't jumping on it

I wouldn't think twice for even a second about getting any of his bashes as actual figures. Truly wish Takara would just ramp up the number of releases a year after COVID walks off the stage and squeeze a couple more mind-blowing repaints in.

I'm assuming that the Diaclone repaints didn't sell that well so they don't do as many anymore. They seem to have decided to charge more money and do less repaints. The Beast Wars MPs don't seem to be doing repaints as often either.

To be honest I used to collect all the Diaclone repaints but it was partially for alt mode display of the Autobot cars. I own MP-36+ but I'm not sure if I would buy all of the potential Decepticon toy repaints. For example if they made toy repaints of Starscream V2 or Soundwave V2 I'm not sure if I would buy them. I agree that there may be a lot of collectors out there that would prefer the toy version. With SS86 turning out to be almost a "Mini MP" line and people saying they're done with MPs because the SS86 figures look so good, I'm wondering if instead of MP toy repaints they've decided to beef up the mainline releases and try to sell more of those instead. The new leader Grimlock is a good example. People are comparing it to MP-08 and loving all the extra detailing in the sculpt that a toon version wouldn't have. I'm buying all of the new 86 movie CHUG figures and I'm so impressed with the new Grimlock that I'm considering selling my Fans Toys Dinobots to replace them with the cheaper and more toon looking SS86 Dinobots. I'm also not convinced TT will ever do all the Dinobots in MP form.

Trust me, i'd want them earlier, haha. I tried to think of some times that would make sense while considering the need for some retools and redecoes. The large gap between the 2 other Seekers and the Coneheads due for the need of a moderate remold, and the shorter one taking into account if Takara decided to NOT make Thundercracker and Skywarp straight recolors of Starscream and instead would add in extra accessories exclusive to each. Couple examples of what could be possible if indeed they should do so, can be seen here, from yours truly. :D

Again, just to clear things up, total guess on my part, I know absolutely nothing, haha.

But yeah, I hear you. I assume you have Dirge already? How's he been treating you, if so?

Oh I know it's a guess but seeing how slowly things generally come out I don't doubt your guess. No, i don't have Dirge yet. All my plans for Seekers changed when MP-52 popped up. Now it's all up in the air because i don't really want to wait years for new MP versions of them. A decision needs to be made, though.

Right, right. Was seeing how people were wording their replies and I was like "Fuck do they think i'm some sort of Takara insider? I'm just a dude who lives his life and collects Transformers." haha.

And yeah, I hear you. The wait ain't fun. I'm personally gonna wait and see about Takara making new ones most likely.

I'm not crazy enough to attempt repainting a £200 MP of this size... Probably :confused2

And yes, a reflection of a chchchcheesy grin would be great for the chrome eyes :D  although the version you just posted works too :p

God do I wish people would custom paint their MP Transformers. I've had to resort to watching Gundam airbrush painters to even get close to it. So few people customize that way. :(

Transformations make it harder, and complicated ones with small tolerances (modern MP's) make it even worse. A lot of custom Gundams are basically "frozen in place" after the photo shoot---fancy paint jobs usually don't last long with moving parts/joints.

True, but i've still seen people airbrush their Transformers. It's just exceedingly rare and takes a ton of prep, like stripping the old paint and removing pin and tons of little screws, but I've seen a few people do it to varying success. Hard as it may be i still wish more people did it. I'd love to try it myself on an MP KO so the money risk isn't high and see how it goes one day.

Guilty as charged! (To a certain point):lol  I use detail decals to bling them up! Espcially MP WJ (version1), Prowl and Smokescreen. I also customized MP-11, Ratchet,IH, Tracks and Roadrage.

MP-10, Hotrod, Soundwave, Red Alert,Inferno,Grapple,Sideswipe,Sunstreaker,Starsaber,Ultra Magnus and MP-8. Beautiful as they are, they lack the other details which OCD collectors like me:crazy:  need to tick off as complete.

Some of us like myself and @OptimusTimelord were painting older MPs to be more toon accurate (before the + subline was a thing)

And I'm stuck somewhere near the finish line of painting up a custom Shockwave too (and I know @Dachande painted one or more Shockwaves)

There's also great customs by @Jarrod and others, most of them can be viewed in the Radicons sub-section :thumb

I did the Silverstreak to Bluestreak custom too, but it didn't look as good as that... sold it when I PO'd the plus version. I was quite proud though because it was my first go at anything like that!

I'm loving that Shockwave repaint! What paint did you use for the "purple"? It's spot on to how I remember him in the toon!
