Niiiiice! Man, I've not been this excited for a Grimlock figure than the original toy! Can't wait for the other Dinobots!!!!!!
The hollow arms are such a non-issue for me (it honestly never has), the lack of a sword stinks a little bit, but I am a little wary about the gold being painted particularly because of those parts tabbing in.
...you do realize Hasbro already does that, right? In fact, the entire reason Toyworld ended up getting raided, is because the company behind that officially licensed non-transforming Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime statue, raised a fit when Toyworld was dumb enough to bring Freedom Leader Tactics Waistcoat to a show where the officially licensed 3P toy was on display. Which brings me to the point that you seem to not be understanding: yes, corporations have good reason to aggressively protect their IPs... if people and/or products are in direct competition with them. Which is why Nintendo striking down AM2R was understandable in retrospect - but them repeated fucking with the youtubers/streamers that provide free advertising when they play their games, is so damn stupid and deserves all the criticism. Likewise, while the way he acquires those factory samples is questionable, PrimeVsPrime isn't in direct competition with anyone other than his own fellow transformers reviewers on youtube. And while normally Hasbro would probably not be inclined to partner with him, unprecedented times call for unprecedented decisions. And we're in the middle of a pandemic that has thoroughly fucked with Hasbro to such an extent, that just the goddamned officially reveals of toys are being delayed far more than average. To say nothing of the actual release dates.
He never had a sword in the series, so not having one here isn't an issue for me. Really does look like the best Grimlock ever made.
Oh Oh noes Oh noes It's disgusting... ... ... ... The damage it'll done to my wallet, I mean. Grimlock himself is stunningly gorgeous
There are people on this board that said it'll never happen. When I explicitly laid out the reason why it most likely will. But look at that, 1:35 scale Dinobots are becoming a reality. Slowly but surely, we're getting *proper* Dinobots in Generations. (after that, maybe Leader class versions of the rest of the Bayformer Dinobots...?)
Would kill for Titan sized AIR-Lock compatible Scramble City Combiners with torso bots that retain their legacy base modes.
I’m not sure why people are confused by this preview of Grimlock using the Legends Gnaw from the Quintesson Pit Hasbro Pulse exclusive that has been promoted, advertised, and fawned over on these boards for months. We are rumored to be getting a Deluxe Gnaw in the SS’86 line. This would be 2nd or 3rd qtr 2021. There’s nothing to show as of yet. Certainly no samples.
I never thought CW style combiners needed to be redone yet until right now! Base mode team leaders would be amazing!
Very nice. After years of tech greeble on every surface, he looks almost plain. I'm sure someone is already specing out arm doors and a sword to round him out. Proper limbs for Wheelie would be nice too.
Give me Leader Class torso bots that are the height of Earthrise Doubledealer with the combiner parts (hands/feet/whatever) included in the box to justify the Leader price point, and small Voyager size limb bots (Seeker height) and I'll be all in! Edit: Hell, all 5 of those would be Titan Class price if put in a boxset, so if Hasbro did that WITHOUT making the individual bots as simple as the Constructicons and Predacons were, I'd be in heaven...
So they took the MP8 mold, switched the metal parts for plastic, took out the electronics, simplified a few areas (mainly shoulder/top of Dino legs) and released it as a main line figure? That’s brilliant, why don’t they do that more often? Of course, if the other Dinos are up to the same standard, it would mean we could have had a full range of official MP Dinobots years ago.
