It's bad, but it's more the fault of the voice director than anything else. Whoever voice directed Siege needs to be run out of town on a rail.

Sure looks that way when you're literally calling out the voice acting which inherently means you're blaming the actors. Where exactly did you think the acting comes from if not the actors?

 

This is another trailer that came out the same time as the first trailer but this one is shorter and has a bit footage showing the mercenaries

 

I honestly lost a lot of faith after seeing the new trailer. It's like the charm of Siege has worn off and now we can see all the faults. At best, Siege was a rough diamond, not great, but not terrible, that had some cool aspects and a lot of negative ones; it was serviceable. I think we will give Siege a pass just because our nostalgia filters are extremely high for anything War for Cybertron and its been one of the better series in the past 5 years, but I do not think Earthrise will be so lucky. The run time is going to kill Earthrise and the plot holes will probably be very obvious. As far as voice acting, like I said it's serviceable, but I don't think they had enough time to get feedback from Siege to fully implement it in Earthrise, Kingdom maybe. But by now, I think we are all tired of the slow talking and it will start to really be annoying in Earthrise. I am honestly worried about Earthrise, seeing that Kingdom is next and most likely set some time when dinosaurs roam the Earth or around then and not modern day, I think Earthrise will just be a meh filler to it and either have Kingdom be the ace in the hole or fall flat on its face and completely kill this series.

 

I'd love to see how they'd do Blurr's voice in this series...

 

He might talk normal speed (without the kirk pausing) so it seems like he's talking fast haha

I havent really been keeping up with this thread, so excuse me if this has been gone over...

But is this next chapter still going to be Siege-esque character models? Or is the Earth part of Earthrise going to kick in at some point?

Its very confusing that they arent using any earthrise characters other than quintessons, doubledealer, and scorponok. I guess they are saving their budget for kingdom...

 

It'll definitely be interesting to see how any potential saved budget will help out with kingdom

 

It kinda seems like earthrise is just filler.

 

Don't take this the wrong way, but I honestly don't understand comments like that. From the beginning of the Earthrise line we were told that it's story was the journey to Earth. It's the next logical step after leaving Cybertron and as such doesn't make sense for there to be Earth modes running around in space. Granted the same is true of the toys, given the story they set up it doesn't make sense for most of them to be earth modes yet. In saying that, the claim that it seems like filler can't really be made for 2 reasons. As I said, it's the next logical step in the story and 2nd it's not even out yet, so any claims about the quality of it's story or anything like that don't hold any validity just yet.

 

I know they have to get from point A to point B but from what we've seen it looks like making it a whole chapter is just filling in time for kingdom. But I havent seen it yet so who knows...
