Anyone able to post a size comparison between Black Mamba LS09 with the old leader class ironhide?

 

Not mine, but here:

 

I have both.. in Short: BMB WAY (like 1000 times) better in botmode, but the leader has a perfect scale in vehiclemode (1:29)
and the proportions of the truck are much better than BMB and MPM but he has a LOT of kibble underneath..

If it were possible I would have the BMB botmode in the Leader truck (without under kibble)

I disassembled the head (not hard) and painted the eyes. I couldn't stand the dead eye look when the LEDs were off, and the LEDs are a deep blue when they should be much lighter anyways. I painted them white, then when they were still wet I added a drop of light blue and mixed it, and I think it came out really nice. And the best part is the LEDs still work just fine! I think every figure with light up eyes needs a layer of paint on there.

 

Wow, great idea! I might try it, but I am terrible- criminally awful- with paint, so I'm hesitant.

 

Once you take the head apart the eyes are on stalks, so all you need to do is paint the ends. Imagine painting a crab’s eyes. If you do it that way there’s no real way you can mess it up. Just let it dry before reassembling.

I was NOT able to get the alt mode to fit together. The front came together just fine unlike the MPM but the sides of the cab just would not fit in properly. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but I didn't have the patience to figure it out. And here's also a pic of mine with some of my added paint details. He's mostly done. I've also decided to leave the calves untabbed from now on. The pieces stay in place just fine and he gets WAY more knee bend like this.

 

You forgot to fold out the little round over parts over his shoulder wheels.

Man this is an awesome figure!

Edit: You have to have the hands positioned just right in alt mode for the cab sides and roof to fit better. I can't remember how they go, sorry, but mess with it, you'll find it.
