Can anyone point me in the right direction. Having trouble with closing the backpack / thrusters section onto arms when going into shuttle and train mode. I’ve head that the pegs inside need to be shaved down but can’t find any info on which side of the pegs need to be trimmed.

 

It can be done without shaving

 

Wow what a figure!! Had a bit of time to fiddle today during meetings  . Boy getting this from bot to train without instructions/video was one of the most challenging ever! Took me frikkin ages to discover those tiny flaps on the inner legs lock/unlock the little knee collapse - scratching my head for quite a while with the front section too far forwards to all fit together!   Finding the right configuration of the arms and parts round the head to assemble the back was lots of trial and error too. Hopefully it's all correct.

Now he's guarding my desk. That's one seriously solid model train - could easily bludgeon someone to death with it!  

Shuttle mode tomorrow.

They have them up at $329.99 now. I'm old enough to remember that people complained about the $220 MSRP when the preorder first went up as outrageously expensive. Now a lot of us would jump at that price immediately.

 

I found when I was having trouble with that it was because I hadn't slid the shoulders all the way into position. It got tight but evidently there was still a tiny bit more to go, so it was likely some kind of locator bump rather than the actual end of the notch. By "tiny bit more" I'm talking a fraction of a millimetre, but enough to mean the two parts weren't levering against each other.

 

So after getting tired of the chest panel screws pulling out with every transformation I decided to fix it with a nail And a dab of glue to make it a pin joint. I saw someone post something like this a few pages back.
I just happened to have the most ideal diameter nail from a set of wire management staples. I just had to cut them down in length. Now he’s perfect

 

Do you happen to know what diameter of nail you ended up using? I’d love to do this fix too!

 

That's a PAINFUL jump for me TBH but I had 9 bucks off at ShowZ and i didn't want to wait and risk paying more. Trust me this stings a lot, especially since i allowed myself to be talked out of pre-ordering it when it was $220.

At least got it before they jacked up the price 10 more dollars!  

 

Excellent! I’m on night shift now and pretty tired so that might explain why I was having problems. I’ll have a look again and see if the shoulders slide a bit further that I already had. Thanks for the helpful reply!

 

It looks like they have it back in stock but really, really why the $100 price bump. Same thing happened to Galvatron. Glad I found a seller that had him for $220 on Ebay. ShowZ has him for $300.

Yeah, I know he's a triple changer and he was missing from our collections AND it's FT, but $220 was partially justified. $329 is having me question if I should still play this game. (Luckily I'm almost done.)

They previewed their Jazz recently, no? Is that guy going to be $180?! If FT, or others like XTB and their egg, are going to play the TT/HASBRO game of ridiculous pricing, I'll be disappointed for us.

 

I stopped even looking at eBay for him because everyone was charging so much. Glad you found it for that much, though! And IMO they jack up prices to get in on the scalper market. There was another store that did that too not long ago and they sold Thomas for 350 after they got some extra stock. It's a joke.

 

Why? Because unfortunately they're selling for that and more...

 

Sellers charge these prices because that's what people are willing to pay them for these things. How are there some collectors who don't know how this game is played yet? lol

 

Yeah it would be a fun trip down memory lane to see the outrage at the original $220. $220 is like half off what most places have it at now.

People know but that does not mean you have to like it or participate in the "game" if they so choose. And guess what? They can complain about it too if they so choose. How are there some people who don't know this too?  

 

LMFAO ShowZ upped the price of Thomas to $334.99! I'm "lucky" I got my order in at 319.99 FFS...  

 

I just wish we'd hear the final word on Blitzwing. I would sell my Astrotrain in a heartbeat if I knew Blitzwing was going to be cancelled or severely pricejacked.
