Hah. Sometimes things just hit differently when you read them, versus hearing them.

I'm still waiting on iceman from BBTS so I'm not holding my breath for this to come in anytime soon. :(

(googles) Oh, interesting, Taiwan uses Cape-gauge rails too. (I was about to ask if they had to be modified/customized to run in Taiwan)

I’m in no rush to get him so
i don’t mind waiting. Does anyone know why BBTS has severely slowed in recent years with receiving shipments?

South Korea has two JNR D51s that are converted to standard gauge but without any smoke deflectors for whatever reason[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

No modifications for D51s to run in Taiwan, except adding a cowcatcher for them!

I'm amazed they could be converted to standard gauge, without interfering with the cylinders/rods etc. That's a LOT wider running gear.

BUT----it seems to actually match FT's figure better I think.

That's good knowledge. I had to read that book in High School, so I'm shocked that I didn't connect the dots. Then again, I didn't see that cartoon too many times after reading the book.

I'm still waiting on Gabriel. First, it was due July then August then September... They might as well tell us Summer of 2021.

My guess is that they sell in sufficient volumes that they have things shipped by boat.

They also sell a huge variety of products, and 3rd Party TFs are likely not a priority for them, so they have no need to pay more in shipping to have stuff early or even at the same time as other stores.

Basically, they know the stuff is going to sell anyway, so there's no point in losing margin to have it faster. Also if a handful of people stop ordering from them because of it, it doesn't really have an impact.

Extend those heel spurs back an inch or so and arch them up so you keep him from leaning back. He's stable in that generic pose.

There's two ways. This is one; the other is to flip the heel spurs underneath the rocket bits and rotate them 90 degrees so the rocket detailing faces outward. There's pictures in the Ditka thread.

Got Astrotrain in the mail, he's as gorgeous as I expected, but I got the wonky knee ratchets that prevent him from straightening his legs. Kind of dampens my hype, sadly. Why do ratchet joints even exist, anyway? All they ever seem to do is cause me pain.
