B... The lights are in the wrong places. They're NOT illuminating the eyes if that was the intended placement for the lights...

 

Ok, I was never part of the crowd that would gripe about Shockwave Labs’ gratuitous use of LEDs, but this kit is definitely giving me pause.

 

What an absolute waste of resources. I'm betting expensive, too. It's a shame. They can make some really killer accessories and filler kits, but stuff like this just makes me go...

 

I doubt this kit was ever meant to light up the eyes, as the back panel is where the eyes come from and they're solid plastic with paint. Unless you cut them off, in which case I guess the light would shine through the sockets. But I have no idea how that would look (and wouldn't be very good when the lights are off). Again, I'm sure that's not the intention of this kit.

I mean, it's not a bad idea--taking advantage of the space in between. But I don't know if it's something I'd go for.

 

If they're "fitting LED's into small spaces behind opaque parts"----can we have some blue ones for Gigawatt? Would be much better.

 

Once again their obsession with LEDs has struck! Shoulda went with the buttfumes.

Everyone here complaining, but forgetting that just because it's marketed for quintessons doesn't mean they have to be used on quintessons

My first thought were of all the other transformers you could fit those small LED's into

At that size there's loads of possibilities, like is their enough space behind gigawatts flux capacitor for one? Optimus' chest, tryoticons mouth, or horn laser, put one inside prime predaking chest, The purple one inside prime megatron, or zombie cliffjumper ect.

Lots of possibilities for a kit like this, just don't use them on the quintessons

 

My thoughts exactly. I’ve been using some wireless LEDs made for Gunpla displays and this looks like a much better solution.

 

Did quints ever light up in the cartoon ?

Not feeling the intended design, but as a modding option this is interesting.

 

Good illumination for the New Year! It makes sense to purchase this Quintesson!

P.S However, they should have done even at the very bottom.

 

I really feel like a more movie-accurate floating part and 5mm compatible ports to stick on the ends of the tentacles (so they can hold weapons) would have made more sense. Hell, even an upgrade for the “jail” mode would have been better than this nonsense.

 

If you paint the inside black, some of the eyes and the mouth will be lit up. Death/pharaoh would need the eyes repainted in smoke to let light through. I think I will be purchasing this and try it
