I think the intended playstyle for them is that they meet an enemy (Autobot, maximal or con) then fight, lose & then be added as gear for the victor.

what I intend to do. Create bone abominations separate from "Transformers"

or is the the aesthetic you "don't get"?

To be clear this post isn't intended in a negative way. just want to understand another's POV.

I am also very meh on the Fossilizers, they don't seem "transformery" at all to me.

Vertebreak isn't even a Fossilizer. He's just a robot that turns into a skeleton of a dinosaur. Mixed messages.

I totally get them--just have no care or need for them.

They're definitely a cool idea--the Beast Wars version of weaponizers. It makes perfect sense. But for my collection, I have no interest in a bunch of bone dinos transforming into bone robots. Not my thing at all. But I do get their appeal.

It’s worse. He’s not even a real skeleton. Just a toy made of plastic!

I kinda wish Fossilizers didn't do the whole split up into armour thing and I could just have my army of zombie skeleton transformers and just have them be some nice nightmare fuel. That's metal enough.

I think I'm more excited for the Fossilizers than anything else in the line. And that's coming from someone who is ecstatic that we are getting Beast Wars.

It's just so rare we get anything completely "New" in generations. And these just tick off so many things I love.

Ractonite looks great from what we can see. Can't wait to see more.

I'm way into Fossilizers as a myth or an urban legend in Cybertronian culture.

They say that if you're ever on Eukaris don't leave town during the night. Don't go too far beyond the treeline. There be monsters out there. Out there the dead walk among the living and if you come upon into contact with a creature of bones do not look it in the eye, do not listen to its tales or follow it to whatever it wants to show you. or no one will ever see you again.

    YES.
VERY cool. Very cool. I need to check that out. All the best GT moment's were his non-verbal scenes.
Completely agree with you. Dinos/ fossils / creepy, irregular, freakish robot modes, "equiptors"...LET'S GO!!!!

    Very into Ractonite.

From that big battle scene I was convinced the therapod would be a scout class, so this is a neat surprise!

Ditto here, the last genuinely completely new concept was the RID2015 Decepticons (in general), I think. (Not including Botbots, they aren't in your "traditional" TF size classes/audience.) I mean, they've flirted with skeletal TFs before like with Bludgeon and TM2 Dinobot, but never gone full-bore into it. I really wish this line went on longer than a year.

That's it, I'm dressing all my Fossilizers up as hags who will lurk in the dark forests waiting to lay curses upon ill-fated Transformers. Maybe I can put on a Cybertronian version of MacBeth.
