Super excited for when my pre order ships, but I'm also very nervous on the overall stability. These are some small ball joints taking on considerable weight.

 

People keep saying “loli,” and I am not sure that word means what you think it means - if these are “loli” to anyone.

Look up a fully clothed, legal “loli” (a child is what you’re trying to say); and then look up what the body of a small person with dwarfism looks like.

Then tell me: which of the two body types do these figures remind you more of?

“loli’s” don’t have curvy torso’s/hips and they surely don’t have stunted legs (or have breasts for that matter - I feel icky saying this even).

However people with dwarfism most definitely do.

Are these still sorta kinda cute? For sho. Are they “Loli’s” tho? Absolutely-lol-not.

Here is hoping these are finished soon; the peeps who want it gets it; and then they move onto full production with their Windblade and whatever else is next in store  

 

These days loli doesn't just refer to children. Anything that has small body, big head and eyes, are considered loli by most people.
I don't think anyone wanna refer to these figures as dwarfs right?

Welp, either way I'm still pretty excited to get these.

 

Rather than loli, I think this is mostly the artist's drawing style. With the exception of Gemini Wings, the red, yellow, and black bot looks like in teenage enough.

 

The fixation on calling them lolis just weirds me out, honestly.

 

To me these are some kind of chibi, certainly not loli.

 

They are absolutely supposed to be chibi. Loli is very specifically supposed to be underaged, pre-pubescent characters and the borderline to outright fetishization of that aesthetic is probably the single skeeviest part of anime "culture" that exists.

 

I gather there's a line, like in the West it's very much association with fetishisation, largely due to the movie Lolita I believe, whereas in Japan it's not exclusively a fetish thing and can just be a fashion style of dressing in a more childlike, specifically non sexual fashion.
Though like with many things there seems to be a spectrum so *shrug*

 

This line of figures are clearly inspired by Megahouse's Desktop Army Line and are meant to compliment them.

As for the style, once again is inspired by Megaman, Medabots, Darling in the Franxx and other such stylized cutesy robot girl mecha robot designs.

There is an entire Genre based on this style.

 

Been meaning to ask, but is Scarlet's Sonic handle works with Desktop Army's hand? Since DA's hand is kinda square in their hole, as opposed to standard 3mm/5mm port ala transformers.

 

I can definitely see the Megaman inspiration, especially with Scarlet Sonic and Thunder Light.
The cute, chibi designs, the bright colors and the fact that they both transform and are combiners made the Magical Henshin set an instant PO.
I hope to see more go up in the near future, like the Black Lion one and what looks like another combiner with the Police Unit and the Ultra Magnus-inspired Henshin.

Well said. To me loli is just when a female character has a small body and looks really young but it doesn't always mean they are. Remilia Scarlet from Touhou project for example is a 500 year old vampire lol.

Gemini Wing reminds me of Rem.

 

Looks like the girls got delayed again... it’s fine, since it’s for quality control reasons. No need to rush.

 

Better to bite the bullet and be a bit more patient if it'll lead to a better quality product, since it'll hopefully pay off in the long run.
