That’s true, but my comment was regarding the legitimization of the Punch/Counterpunch figure in particular; I’m pleased to see him brought back in, not POTP molds or the POTP line in general.

I ordered a Siege Barricade after seeing the full set. As much as I’d like an Earthrise Barricade, I don’t want to purchase a Power of the Primes toy. I also specifically skipped Chromia due to the reused wheels and thighs- A new trilogy shouldn’t use old stuff.

Why so opposed to PotP reuse?

The Transformers brand originated as reusing/rebranding old toys, and rereleases, recolors and retools have been a core part of the franchise ever since.

I don’t mind releases that are only POTP molds, like the Clone sets or Takara Selects combiners. I just don’t like how they’re mingled with WFC-era stuff here. I didn’t start my current collection until Siege, because I liked how the figures didn’t use ball joints save for the heads and kept a running scale, plus universal compatibility with effect parts. I think Prime Wars-era figures look and feel pretty cheap.

I would have gotten this Megatronus repaint. I skipped Sky Shadow because of no Blue Bacchus. I skipped Overlord because he is too short compared to God Ginrai

Lack of ankle tilts aside, PW Punch/Counterpunch is about as perfect as we're likely ever gonna get for that character. If you're not the type that is bothered by not having every character, I can understand skipping it, but design and engineering-wise it's definitely a step-up from most Prime Wars deluxes.

I’m definitely not the type to be bothered by that. I’m seventeen and don’t have a display room, haha.

Think I might have to get this for Punch-to-Nightbeat repurposing, uh, purposes.

I missed out on the previous release of Punch/Counterpunch and really need more Earth mode Decepticons. Not to mention this heavily resembles Nightbeat whom needs another toy. Question is, does Punchbeat match up with the new scale? I seem to recall Prime Wars toys being much larger in alt mode than WFC molds.

Unfortunately, alt-mode scale doesn't matter anymore. Due to being Sunbow scale, they're focusing on the robot modes matching in size.

Hoist is massive, compared to Grapple, in vehicle mode, while they're accurately sized in robot mode. Almost perfect scale, according to the Sunbow charts.

PCP was the best Deluxe in all of Prime Trilogy as he was not hampered with a combiner or headmaster gimmick.

I would argue that Rook and its retools have a step up because of the ankle tilts, but the amount P/CP transforms between bot modes is extremely impressive.
